MERYL STREEP TO LEAD MINI TV SERIES

In an apparently bidding war for it, Netflix has won rights on the mini TV series adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's bestselling book THE CORRECTIONS and they have attached Meryl Streep to play the mother of the family. According to Deadline, it will be a sharply comic portrait of a Midwestern family whose three unmoored adult siblings desperately resist their mother’s wish for one last Christmas together – each undone by the delusional ambitions that were supposed to save them from becoming their parents. Cord Jefferson is directing.

With the launch date of May 1st coming closer and closer a fun new teaser and first poster have been released for the hotly anticipated sequel DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2 in which Anne Hathaway returns as Andy who is back at Runway as Miranda (Meryl Streep) navigates a new media landscape and Runway's position within it. They reconnect with another former assistant, Emily (Emily Blunt), who is now the head of a luxury brand that possesses funding which could ensure Runway's survival. Stanley Tucci is back as Nigel, Kenneth Branagh plays Miranda's estranged husband while Justin Theroux plays Emily's husband. Lucy Liu, Donatella Versace and Lady Gaga will cameo as well. MEET THE CAST OF THE SEQUEL

You can almost hear the sound of Abba's greatest hits as MAMMA MIA: HERE WE GO AGAIN is ready to dance its way into cinemas this weekend! And speaking of those songs, you will again hear Waterloo, I Have a Dream, Dancing Queen, Fernando and of course, Mamma Mia in the sequel too! Directed by Ol Parker, it is opening July 20th set after the events of the first film with flashbacks to 1979 to tell the story of how Donna came to be on the island of Kalokairi and trying to figure out who fathered her daughter, Sophie.

DONNA IS DEAD!
Five years after the events of Mamma Mia!, on the Greek island of Kalokairi, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is pregnant with Sky's (Dominic Cooper) child while running her mother's (Meryl Streep) villa. Her relationship with Sky has been turbulent for some time, giving her cause to doubt that she can survive without her mother, Donna, who had passed away one year prior. With Tanya (Christine Baranski) and Rosie's (Julie Walters) guidance, Sophie will find out more of Donna's past, including how she fronted The Dynamos, started her villa on the island from nothing, met each one of Sophie's dads (Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård, and Colin Firth), and raised a daughter, without a mother to guide her. She also has an unexpected visit from someone she has never even met: her grandmother, Ruby Sheridan (Cher).

WHO ELSE IS IN THE FILM?

With the flashbacks featuring rather heavily in the movie with the main character from the original 2008 movie now dead and gone, the cast will also include younger versions of the leading stars and thus Lily James joins the movie as young Donna,  Jessica Keenan Wynn as Young Tanya, Alexa Davies as Young Rosie. When it comes to boys, Jeremy Irvine joins the cast as Irish American architect Young Sam, Hugh Skinner as British banker Young Harry and Josh Dylan as Young Bill, Swedish sailor and travel writer! Andy García is Fernando Cienfuegos, the manager of the Hotel Bella Donna, old friend of Ruby’s! Celia Imrie is Vice-Chancellor! While we expect for her to get nominated again for an Oscar for her singing screeching role in Florence Jenkins Foster, living legend Meryl Streep will both star in and produce, together with J.J. Abrams a mini series adaptation of THE NIX, a bestselling novel by Nathan Hill!

THE NIX is a sprawling generational tale that focuses on a hippie era mother who gets national press exposure for throwing rocks at a conservative governor on the presidential campaign trail. Before you know it, her estranged son, a professor, aspiring novelist and general underachiever, seizes an opportunity to get himself out of debt by writing a scathing profile of his estranged mother.

'THE DOMESTICS' SF MOVIE

TYLER HOECHLIN AND KATE BOSWORTH IN APOCALYPSE 

Now, wouldn't these two make a lovely couple? According to fresh news, Tyler Hoechlin, whom you are currently watching as the latest reincarnation of Superman in Supergirl TV series, and lovely Kate Bosworth, are negotiating to take the lead roles in post apocalyptic thriller movie THE DOMESTICS. Although the title does not really reveal it, the story takes place in a futuristic wasteland where a young couple travels through a harrowing, gang ravaged countryside in an attempt to make it home. Mike P. Nelson is both writing and directing the feature film.

'THRONE OF GLASS' SAGA

TO BE ADAPTED INTO 'QUEEN OF SHADOWS' TV SERIES

And an info for all the book lovers: as 'Deadline' reports today, Hulu has bought adaptation rights on Sarah J. Maas'  THRONE OF GLASS epic bestseller and will turn it into a TV series QUEEN OF SHADOWS with Anna Foerster of Underworld: Blood Wars directing the pilot.

QUEEN OF SHADOWS follows Celaena Sardothien, a complicated female assassin with a mysterious past who only wants her freedom. Now beholden to an increasingly tyrannous king, Celaena will become a reluctant hero against the multitudes of forces that threaten to destroy her world. Along the way she will make friends, enemies, and lovers, and be wildly underestimated by all of them.

TO STAR IN DR 'JEKYLL' MOVIE?

While Russell Crowe recently got signed by Universal to play their Dr. Jekyll, in their monsters franchise movie THE MUMMY with Tom Cruise, 'Deadline' reports that Lionsgate is preparing their own JEKYLL movie and they've already got Chris Evans to play the lead!

Their movie will, apparently, be the big screen adaptation of recent JEKYLL British BBC series in which James Nesbitt played the modern version of the doctor with split personality who lives in a fortified basement with a psychiatric nurse as his ally. She watches him transform into an alter ego who rages, shows heightened strength and speed and can be a charming, flirtatious scoundrel as well. The two personalities try to co-exist, even though one doesn’t remember what the other does while in control of the body. They use a micro cassette to leave messages for each other.

Meanwhile, according to fresh rumours, coming over from 'The Wrap', Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt, two of our absolute faves, could be starring together for the third time after Devil Wears Prada and Into the Woods! Streep is, allegedly, negotiating to join Disney's sequel MARY POPPINS RETURNS in which Blunt plays the lead role! What is more interesting Into the Woods helmer Rob Marshall is directing this one as well! Also starring Lin Manuel Miranda as lamplighter Jack, and set in  depression era London, the movie will follow the grown up Banks children as they get a visit from the umbrella flying nanny after a family tragedy.
