New sitcom will stream this July |
About a year ago I told you that Netflix has ordered sixteen episodes of a new multicamera sitcom
LEANNE from
Chuck Lorre which will see comedienne
Leanne Morgan lead the comedy and now we have the first trailer and a launch date on
July 31st. She will play a woman whose life takes an unexpected turn when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Starting over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly what she had in mind, but with the help of her family she will navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity and jello salad.
Kristen
Johnston will play her completely opposite sister Carol who twice divorced with no kids, and if there’s a choice between going to church and going to a

bar, she will always choose the latter. Despite their differences, Carol is fiercely loyal to her sister and is her ride or die. Celia Weston,
Blake Clark,
Ryan Stiles, Graham Rogers and Hannah Pilkes.
Tim Daly, Jayma Mays, Annie Gonzalez and
Blake Gibbons will recur. I am leaving you with the

trailer below, check it out and tell us what you think, for some reason I find the lead actress very weird and not funny at all.
Looks like an interesting comedy. Sadly, I think quite a few women her age can relate.
ReplyDeleteDon't miss it this July at Netflix.
DeleteI remember that you wrote about this. And Chuck Lorre usually doesn't disappoint.
ReplyDeleteNot in my book, sadly, I do not think I have ever found any of his sitcoms funny.
DeleteYikes, I thought when you first wrote about this I could get behind it, but after the trailer, I didn't find anything funny or amusing in the least. I have a feeling this will be a one season sitcom.
ReplyDeleteI thought she would be funny, but she was just weird in the trailer for me, will give it a go, still.
DeleteDo let me know if it's worth watching. I just have a bad feeling about this though.
DeleteEverything else was bad this year, I just finished POPPA'S HOUSE and it was boring to watch and now I am afraid to even start GEORGIE AND MANDY next weekend.
DeleteEverything has been so disappointing lately. I'm having a hard time getting into any books as well. I think my mind just needs a little break. I've been wanting to read that author Freida McFadden since she seems to be all the rage these days, but my library hasn't had her books in stock in ages.
DeleteI have not heard of her. I am finishing the translation of another Glenn Cooper today, hope I get something fun to work on next.
DeleteCongrats on finishing another book! Fingers crossed it isn't some angsty chick lit novel but something fun and meaty!
DeleteThe editor is on a vacay, so I hope I will find out soon.
