back in October, we now have the first trailer for the film!. Edgar Wright directed the adaptation of Stephen King’s futuristic novel, a chase thriller set in a dystopian America in the year 2025. The story centers on Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in violent reality show called The Running Man in order to win enough money to revive his gravely ill daughter. The show follows Richards being chased by numerous hunters sent to kill him. Josh Brolin as a villain, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian and Daniel Ezra are also in the film which will have a November 7th, 2025 release! Check out the trailer below:

MGM + RELEASES TRAILER FOR THE INSTITUTE TV SERIES BASED ON STEPHEN KING'S NOVEL WITH BEN BARNES IN THE LEAD

The Institute starts July 13th on MGM+
MGM Plus has released first trailer for their eight episode series adaptation of Stephen King's THE INSTI- TUTE with Ben Barnes in the lead role which is set to hit the streamer July 13th. When 12-year-old genius Luke Ellis is kidnapped, he awakens at The Institute, a facility full of children who all got there the same way he did, and who are all possessed of unusual abilities. In a nearby town, haunted former police officer Tim Jamieson (Barnes) has come looking to start a new life, but the peace and quiet won’t last, as his story and Luke’s are destined to collide. Tim Jamieson is a  disillusioned ex-cop who takes a job as the night knocker in a small town, withdrawing from the world until Luke’s plight reignites him and gives him something to believe in. Mary Louise Parker will be  Ms. Sigsby, the charming but iron-willed director of the Institute and a true believer in its awful mission. She’s certain history will come to see her as a hero.

After scoring a win at Toronto Film Festival big screen adaptation of Stephen King's THE LIFE OF CHUCK with Tom Hiddleston is hitting theatres June 6th and we have the first trailer today. Told in reverse, the film follows Chuck Krantz from his death and ending with his early childhood. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan play Marty and Felicia, a divorced couple whose world is unraveled by the mystery of Chuck Krantz, with Mia Sara and Mark Hamill as Chuck’s grandparents. Matthew Lilard, Kate Siegel, David Dastmalchian, also star in this life affirming movie.

TOM HIDDLESTON TO LEAD THE LIFE OF CHUCK STEPHEN KING MOVIE ADAPTATION! SEE DANISH MUSIC STAR CHRISTOPHER IN NETFLIX MOVIE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE TRAILER

And our dear Tom Hiddleston will be joined in the film adaptation of Stephen King's THE LIFE OF CHUCK by Mark Hamill. The story is split into three parts, each of them telling a part of Chuck's story in reverse chronological order. The story begins with Chuck's death from a brain tumour at the age of 39, and ends with his childhood in a house which is supposedly haunted. Mike Flanagan is directing. Hiddleston also has the second seasons of Loki and The Night Manager coming up. This hot package (not the one from the picture above, you rascals) will be shopped at Cannes.

Netflix has released a trailer for their new Danish original movie A BEAUTIFUL LIFE which hits the streamer June 1st starring gorgeous Danish singer, actor and songwriter Christopher. He plays Elliott, a young fisherman with an extraordinary voice, who gets the chance of a lifetime when he is discovered by the successful high-profile music manager, Suzanne. Suzanne soon pairs Elliott with her estranged daughter and music producer, Lilly. Let us face it, people, ever since I've been spying I don't remember that we've ever had such a nasty and bland summer as this one was, even the previous one which hit us in the middle of a deadly disease outbreak had tons of great series and this one has next to none: beside North Water that is airing on AMC and Nine Perfect Strangers that starts at the end of the month, the only other new show we can look forward to is period set horror series CHAPELWAITE which will arrive August 22nd based on Stephen King's Jerusalem's Lot. It has been shot, with certain difficulties, last summer, and is finally getting to the small screens.

Set in the 1850s, it follows Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea.

Another spooky project for us this week, this time Epix has given a ten episode order to new period set horror series JERUSALEM'S LOT to be toplined by Oscar winner Adrien Brody! Based on a short story by Stephen King, it will shoot next year with the plans for it to be aired next Autumn! In the story set in the 1850s, Adrien Brody will play Captain Charles Boone who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history, and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations. Peter and Jason Filardi will write and executive produce the whole series.

   THE STAND
 is set in a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108 year old other Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors.
 James Marsden will be Stu Redman, an ordinary working class factory man in an extraordinary situation with a damaged quality to him that belies his exterior. JAMES MARSDEN, AMBER HEARD, GREG KINNEAR, WHOOPI GOLDBERG IN STEVEN KING'S THE STAND SERIES AT CBS! OUTPOST SEASON TWO EPIC SERIES TRAILER IS HERE

JAMES MARSDEN TO TOPLINE?
He really did survive a betrayal from his beloved one in the second season of Westworld, but it does not mean James Marsden won't make a stand or THE STAND! Yep, he will lead new TV series adaptation of Stephen King's famous novel over at CBS All Access! Apparently Amber Heard, Greg Kinnear and Whoopi Goldberg are also in the run.

He will lead the nine episode adaptation of the post apocalyptic novel which depicts the total breakdown of society after the accidental release of a strain of influenza that had been modified for biological warfare and causes an apocalyptic pandemic which kills off the majority of the world’s human population.

As Deadline reports, he will be Stu  Redman, a man who is immune to the virus. He found patient zero in the original quarantine zone but never got sick so the government was precious with him in order to try to find a vaccine from his blood.

'THE OUTPOST' SF SERIES

I'm a bit late with this one, but according to this week's news, Amazon has cast young Sam Strike as the lead star of their THE DARK TOWER fantasy series which is getting a pilot order even though the movie version was a rather big flop two years ago. He will play famous gunslinger Roland Deschain in the small screen adaptation of Stephen King's famous sf saga. As Deadline reports, it will be independent from the film and is meant to be a more faithful retelling of the book than the movie was. The story should take place many years before the events in the film focusing on Roland Deschain’s origin story – how he first became a gunslinger and got his guns, his first conflict with the man in black, his first love and his first mission as a gunslinger. As another addition to the cast, Jasper Pääkkönen has been cast as Marten, a man Roland is out to kill.

TV news all day today, people! Wonder Woman's Gal Gadot is negotiating to lead Showtime's new series about famous Hollywood actress and super intelligent inventor HEDY LAMARR! Beside being the star of Hollywood's greatest hits in the 40's, for example Samson and Dalilah, she was also an inventor whose inventions led to WiFi and GPS. As 'Deadline' reports, Austrian born Lamarr started her career in Czechoslovakia in the early 1930s before leaving her husband, a wealthy Austrian ammunition manufacturer, and moving to Paris and London where she got signed by Metro Goldwyn Meyer. When it comes to her scientific works, at the beginning of World War II, she and composer George Antheil developed a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes, which used spread spectrum and frequency.

 In other TV news today, it seems that Netflix' movie adaptation of Stephen King's IN THE TALL GRASS won't be toplined by James Marsden, but by another of our beloved actors Patrick Wilson together with Laysla De Oliveira and Harrison Gilbertson.

It follows brother and sister Cal and Becky Demuth! When Becky finds out she's pregnant during her second year at college, their parents decide to send her to live with her aunt and uncle until the baby is born, and Cal comes along with her during the spring break. After visiting a number of tourist destinations along the way they come across a vast field, where they hear a boy named Tobin crying out for help. The twins decide to venture into the field to help young Tobin, but soon realize that they may never get to leave and that something evil lurks within the tall grass!
