And it is happening over at Universal where, according to Hollywood Reporter, Amy Pascal will turn Alexandra Bracken's bestseller LORE

The book became an international bestseller

into a film. Described as Hunger Games meets Greek mythology, it follows Lore Perseous whose family was murdered as a part of the Agon, a divine hunt that occurs every seven years as punishment for a past rebellion by nine Greek gods, who are forced to walk the earth as mortals and be hunted. After years in hiding, Lore has to decide if she re-enters the Agon to avenge her family’s death with the help of a childhood friend she thought was dead and Athena, one of the last of the original gods. Earlier last week, Bracken published a new book, an Arthurian contemporary fantasy titled Silver in the Bone!

JAMES MARSDEN TO TOPLINE?

He really did survive a betrayal from his beloved one in the second season of Westworld, but it does not mean James Marsden won't make a stand or THE STAND! Yep, he will lead new TV series adaptation of Stephen King's famous novel over at CBS All Access! Apparently Amber Heard, Greg Kinnear and Whoopi Goldberg are also in the run.

He will lead the nine episode adaptation of the post apocalyptic novel which depicts the total breakdown of society after the accidental release of a strain of influenza that had been modified for biological warfare and causes an apocalyptic pandemic which kills off the majority of the world’s human population.

As Deadline reports, he will be Stu  Redman, a man who is immune to the virus. He found patient zero in the original quarantine zone but never got sick so the government was precious with him in order to try to find a vaccine from his blood.

Now, here's a plot that sounds very nice: as 'Deadline' reports today Greg Kinnear will take the lead role of a husband whose marriage is on the rocks so he goes to great lengths without his wife’s knowledge to demonstrate how much he loves her in PIANO LESSONS.

Based on a true story, it will see him playing a lawyer who after 20 years of marriage realizes his relationship with his wife is failing. The wife, passionate about music, is ready for a new life after their 19 year old daughter leaves the nest. To win her back and prove his love to her, he decides to take piano lessons to learn her favourite song, Robert Schumann’s “Traumerei,” a delicate song to master. He goes to a free spirited, sexy female piano teacher to take lessons behind his wife’s back and slowly progresses from all thumbs to pianist.

I also wanted to remind you that Amazon has started airing a magnificent pilot for possible new sf series OASIS with our most beloved Scot Richard Madden. It is in a group of five new pilots and the votes from viewers will decide which one will be ordered for a whole series. You can check out the pilots trailer below with the OASIS part starting around the first minute. I've watched the pilot and I can tell you that it is intriguing, atmospheric and proves Madden's magnetic charisma with which he carries the role of the show's lead with great ease. With a quick pace and tense atmosphere, the pilot leaves you wanting for more after the opening episode ends up with a scene of mysterious and stunning revelation. 

A TEST OF FAITH   
Based on The Book of Strange New Things by Michael Faber, it is set some 20 years into the future and sees brilliantly talented Richard Madden playing a chaplain who is sent into space to help scientists and workers there to establish a colony on a faraway planet, though what he discovers there tests his faith and life itself. This is  the fourth series the outstanding young star is leading, and the cast also includes Mark Addy and Hayley Joel Osment!
