'EYES OF THE DRAGON'
STEPHEN KING EPIC FANTASY TO BECOME HULU TV SERIES
Fantasy today: the latest epic fantasy to be adapted into a TV series is Stephen King's THE EYES OF THE DRAGON which will bring kings, princes, dragons, fairies and elves to Hulu which has put Seth Grahame
Smith as a showrunner. In it King Roland’s manipulative magician, Flagg, sees his power threatened when Queen Sasha gives birth to Peter, an heir to the throne of Delain. When the queen is pregnant with a second son, Flagg gets her midwife to mortally wound the queen and so begins his plot to dispose of the future king. Peter brings wine to his father’s bed chambers each night and Flagg poisons the potion and frames the son. The magician has meanwhile also been manipulating the younger son, Thomas, showing him secret passages where the boy can spy on his father. Thomas sees the murder of the king and the frameup of his brother, but is torn when Peter is found guilty and locked in an enormous tower. After all with Peter gone, he’s king at age 12. He allows Flagg widespread power that corrupts the kingdom. Meanwhile, Peter must attempt an escape to thwart Flagg and win back the throne.
The book shares some of the Dark Tower mythology |
'WESTWORLD' SEASON 3
TRAILER WITH AARON PAUL
The series itself ain't returning till next year (it is the only series that comes every two years), but HBO has revealed the first trailer for the third season of their high concept sf series WESTWORLD featuring Aaron Paul as the
main character in it - and a surprise glimpse of Evan Rachel Wood at the very end: does this mean the androids are out and ready to wreck chaos in the real world too? Vincent Cassel will play a villain. Some photos from the set in Spain have revealed Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro and Simon Quarterman among WW2 setting, which could be a clue for a new park?
Aaron Paul joins HBO's Westworld in the third very dark season |
I haven't read that Stephen King title yet. Not sure I'd watch the series though, as most of the series and movies are just awful compared to his books.
ReplyDeleteIf they even make it in the end, these epic fantasy shows never happen as they're expensive as hell and nobody would want to disappoint the audience as GOT did last night :)
DeleteYes, I've seen a lot of disappointment all over Facebook today. Seems like the last season was not a hit with fans. Maybe because the last book hasn't been published yet? Did the series writers make up their own ending or was George RR Martin advising on how it would all play out on screen?
DeleteI've no idea, they always wrote that series against the wishes of the audience, so I figured they would kill fans' favourite and give the throne to someone irrelevant. I'm glad I stopped watching that arrogant shit three seasons in.
DeleteGame of Thrones: The Last Jedi. Enough said. Subverting expectatioons is all the rage. Well, there is rage, all right.
DeleteGlad I haven't watched! I stick to Into the Badlands, Warrior, Durrells, Jamestown and Spanish Princess these days.
DeleteI'm confused by all this phantasy world.
ReplyDeleteI'll say this, though:
I think future, alternative worlds will be more like Chernobil, with wildlife taking over, and no humans, fairies, elves, robots in it.
Humans have miserably failed, and the Creator of the universe will probably not give them another chance.
You should watch new Chernobil TV series if you have HBO on cable! I hear people really like it.
DeleteChernobyl is a fascinating subject. It's also a crazy, unbelievable, nighmarish one.
DeleteWhenever the disaster is mentioned in the Media (usually in April, on the anniversary day) I check Youtube for the latest documentary video on Chernobyl. The last one was from April, this year.
It seems Ukraine has found ways to promote tourism to the region, and is making quite a lot of money.
I was a very little kid when it happened, but I still remember the terror around Europe about it. I've seen recently set of photos of animals who thrive there without people.
DeleteThere nature comes to life!
DeleteMiraculously!
DeleteMay the robots be set loose and murder everyone. The end.
ReplyDeleteThat would be the best outcome.
DeleteSee, I knew you'd agree. Hope they'll start in Hollywood.
DeleteOr in my government's hall!
DeleteI just started watching this series, I hope it will not disappoint me further
ReplyDeleteI still haven't decided whether to watch the third season or not, the second one was so slow, it did not really leave me wanting for more.
