'UNPLANNED' TRAILER
THE TRUTH LEAVES ITS MARK!
I don't know if you've heard about it, but one of the news around the net today is that Canada has refused to air prolife movie UNPLANNED in their theatres. What are they scared of? It is quite shocking to see that kind of brutal
and blatant censorship at a time when everybody is talking about the issue due to some of the states accepting laws which ban abortions after the heartbeat of a baby can be detected.
Ashley Bratcher plays the lead role in the film! |
UNPLANNED
which, despite attacks and pressures, earned massive $18 million in USA when it aired back in March, follows Abby Johnson (Ashley Bratcher) who always wanted to help women. As one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in USA, she was involved in upwards of 22,000 abortions and counselled countless women about their reproductive choices. Her passion surrounding a woman’s right to choose even led her to become a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood, fighting to enact legislation for the cause she so deeply believed

It's amazing how it's always the conservative side that always gets censored. Thanks for letting us know about this film. I haven't heard about it, but it certainly has a powerful message that BOTH sides should hear.
ReplyDeleteSee, the fact that you haven't heard about it, but it took someone from across the globe to inform you about it, tells a lot about how suppressed this movie is and how censored American media is, sadly. And if they censor this, imagine what other truths they hide from you. I remember, back in the '99, when US was bombing my country for three months day and night, almost none of your networks reported about it, almost as if it wasn't happening. Imagine hiding such a massive truth like bombing another sovereign country for almost 100 days!
DeleteYou're right. It seems that the media is very liberal based, so we get one sided news most often :( Yes, it did take a long time for the bombing news to hit us back then, and even still, it was just a small blip mixed in with hoards of other news. I'm glad that technology is giving us more access to faster and more reliable information from all sides though. Unfortunately, it will take some time before we banish all fake news though.
DeleteFake news is the new weapon of war, methinks.
DeleteBut even in entertainment, you get mostly news that your studios serve you, I think The Hollywood Spy has lasted for more than a decade now, exactly because we are one of the very few English language sites that offer movie and TV news from all over the world, not just Hollywood crap.
Abortion is a dramatic topic, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteIt is surprising, however, that nowadays, with all the great number of options for birth control in the western world, women still reach the stage of unwanted child birth and the dilemma of abortion or not.
I'm for planned parenthood for several reasons, and I believe social services should do more about it.
I think a lot of them use abortion as the form contraception, sadly.
DeleteI know people, Dezzie, who have confirmed that they use it as their birth control. It makes me sick.
DeleteI know it too, that is why I said it, it is the tragedy of our society.
DeleteI heard there were issues because the film was felt to be one sided. Haven't seen it myself so who knows? I do think countries have a certain measure of right with what they feel comfortable with having shown. But there can be abuse of power sometimes to further an agenda. Perhaps a higher age rating would have been a better move. But who knows.
ReplyDeleteEither way whether pro-life or choice it is essential to understand the needs of the potential mother. Especially in places where they're making it hard for women to get access to contraception. I never understand that. Sure abortion is highly debated but contraception and birth control meds shouldn't be. If you want less abortions access to alternative methods to prevent pregnancy should be a top priority.
I think it has a very high age rating, because it shows things as they really happen, which is, in this case, I think necessary. I've heard a lot of stories from nurses who work in abortion clinics and what they've seen is indescribable horror.
DeleteIt's interesting that I was having a discussion about this recently with a couple of my adult sons. One is a new father and is now opposed to on-demand abortion while the other isn't sure. We talked about the legal mess that's out there for doctors. If the mother want's a 20-week-old baby, the doctor will do everything in their power to save it. If the mother doesn't, the doctor can be required to kill it, under the guise that it's not a human. Your status as a human shouldn't be decided on whether or not your mother wants you. I'm looking forward to watching this movie.
ReplyDeleteYes, using term Pieces of conception for POC instead of Pieces of child is their sad way to justify their own conscience. I don't understand doctors and nurses who work at those clinics and fully support it. I'm not religious, and I'm liberal, but I could never do something like that.
