RON HOWARD AND GEORGE LUCAS TO TURN WILLOW INTO EPIC FANTASY TV SERIES FOR DISNEY'S NEW STREAMING SERVICE?

'WILLOW' TO BECOME
TV SERIES AT DISNEY PLUS?
It seems Disney's new streaming service does not want Amazon and Netflix to win the race at the epic fantasy series front so they're preparing a
Willow would be older, wiser, more mature
TV series adaptation of famous 80's fantasy hit WILLOW. Or at least that is what Ron Howard said recently, revealing that he and George Lucas might turn the famous film into a series at Disney +, but he said the show would be built around the older, wiser Willow and other characters, and that it would be more intimate. Famous fantasy classic had Warwick Davis portraying a reluctant farmer who protects a baby with special powers from a tyrannical queen who sees a threat to her rule and world domination plans in her. The film also starred Val Kilmer as a wizard. As you know, Amazon is preparing Lord of the Rings series with a $1 billion budget and also The Wheel of Time, while Netflix is preparing The Witcher saga, The Last Airbender and Shadow and Bone and Arthurian saga Cursed.

  1. "Speak of the Devil" - reboot, remake, reimagining (your reply to my comment on Ophelia).
We are promised that the new willow will be more mature. Why? The world is full of immature people including those watching the Disney willows.

The word 'willow' reminds me of a health supplement made of willow bark. It contains salicilin (as in aspirin) and is anti-inflammatory. I rarely use it, but I keep some at home just in case...

    1. We do love medicinal plants, aspirin itself is made from willow, methinks. I drink it every day for my heart problems.

    2. Aspirin is perhaps the oldest and most widely used medication in the world.
I suppose you take it under doctor's supervision as aspirin as a blood thinner can be quite problematic.
      Anyway, feel well!

  2. I think Willow is one that I actually missed out on watching back in the 80's, or maybe I just don't remember it. I'd definitely give the series a try though.

As for aspirin, that's one that I can't take. Jason threw every bottle out that was in the house after I was diagnosed with my UC and they told me it would cause a flare.

    1. There were too many similar movies in the 80s to remember them all, from Neverending story, Ladyhawk, Legend to Willow!
My aspirin is gastroresistant which should mean it does not cause stomach problems, but one never knows indeed. I have to take it whether I want it or not, otherwise I'd be dead already :))

    2. We'll see, I remember that it hasn't dated well so an update may work?

    3. Yes, rare are the things that have aged well from the 80's, visually!

    4. Yes, there were a lot of similar movies in the 80's but I did enjoy most of them. I had Allison hooked on Never Ending Story and The Last Unicorn for a while. I think the early 90's had some pretty fun shows too.

    5. Those were the years of absolute bliss when people still believed in imagination and dreams. I remember how enchanted I was with each episode of The Storyteller!

  3. Please don't touch Willow. Make something new. No?
