'THE WOLF AND THE LION'
CASTS MOLLY KUNZ AS LEAD
After the worldwide success with Mia and the White Lion, director Gilles de Maistre will do another family adventure with animals! He's already set
young Molly Kunz to lead THE WOLF AND THE LION together with Graham Greene. The shooting will last a whole year in order to follow the natural growth of the animals in the film.
Our favourite Studiocanal is producing this one as well |
Molly Kunz will play Alma, a headstrong music student from New York
who attends her grandfather’s funeral on a remote Canadian island and
unexpectedly discovers a lost lion cub who had been destined for the
Vancouver circus, before also rescuing an endangered, female wolf who is
being pursued by researchers. At Alma’s cabin, the wolf gives birth to a
single cub, Mozart, who immediately bonds with the rescued lion cub,
Dreamer. The wolf mother is soon captured and Alma is left to tend to
the babies. But their world soon collapses as Mozart and Dreamer are
captured and separated, and must embark on a treacherous journey to be
reunited as Alma also searches for them.
Music and wildlife sounds like a thrilling combination which results, in this case, in a lovely family movie.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me, however, of some lyrics I once read about the wolf and lion wanting the same thing in the end: to rush upon you and rip your flesh.
Judging by the photo, the leading actress has a very sweet face.
Yes, they're both very dangerous animals even though they look cute. Some ten years ago I translated Jiang Rong's famous WOLF TOTEM saga and it describes how a boy tried to tame a wolf cub even though back in the communist days Chinese authorities loved to kill wolves in Inner Mongolia. In the end they killed most of them, but it resulted in the drastic increase of antelopes who ate all the grass then, turned Inner Mongolia into desert and now Beijing is suffocating in sand that winds lash onto the city daily from the desert.
DeleteAny sword fighting in it?
ReplyDeleteNo, wolves use only guns, duh...
DeleteI hope they are all reunited in the end. Nothing hurts my heart more than seeing animals mistreated.
ReplyDeleteI can't even watch them being hurt in films!
