JOINS THE WORST DARK COMEDY MOVIE

According to Variety, our dearest Sam Claflin has joined the ensemble cast of dark comedy movie THE WORST alongside Anna 

Sam Claflin has joined the cast

Maxwell Martin, Dustin Demri-Burns, Sian Clifford, Anthony Boyle, who join previously announced Alicia Vikander and Tom Hollander. The film centers on socialite Emily Fisher (Vikander) and her husband Max (Hollander) as they invite their equally wealthy friends to their new chateau in France for the night. Among the guests are a group of people who really can’t stand each other: Jim (Clafin) and his wife Holly (Keira Knightley), a struggling diversity consultant who continuously clashes with everyone until she gets a migraine, and Danny (Boyle) a quick-witted talent agent that name-drops his client list every chance he gets. As the evening begins to unravel and dark secrets are revealed, waitress Niamh (Erin Kellyman) finds herself right in the middle of their chaos.

Channel 4 has unveiled cast for their new four part drama CLOSE TO HOME which follows Sean (Anthony Boyle), a young man who finds himself back in Belfast. Back from university and back into old habits. Back on the mad all-nighters, the borrowed tenners and missing rent, the casual jobs

Seamus O'Hara, Anthony Boyle and Oisin Thompson will star

 that always fall through. Back with his brother, his ma and all the things they never talk about. Back where the promised prosperity of peacetime has yet to arrive and every street has a story to tell. One night, Sean assaults a stranger at a party and everything is tipped into chaos. Jessica Reynolds, Seamus O’Hara and Oisín Thompson also star.

THE STORY OF THE SERIES 

 is set in 19th century Dublin and New York, and it will focus on the consequences of the death of Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his cunning will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the growing juggernaut that is one of the most beloved alcoholic drinks today. David Wilmot will be Bonnie Champion  with Louis Partridge also in the cast. We have something with Jamesy Norton today as well, after the new images of him and the crew from King And Conqueror series which starts this Sunday on BBC! After the first set pictures which I showed you a month or so ago, we now have first poster, streaming date and official images from Steven Knight's period set series HOUSE OF GUINNESS about one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties – The Guinness Family! These new images are showing James Norton as Sean Rafferty and Anthony Boyle, who will play Arthur Guinness.

based on the best-selling novels by CJ Sansom, sees lovely Arthur Hughes playing Matthew Shardlake, a lawyer with an acute sense of justice and one of the few honest men in a world beset with scheming and plots. Shardlake works for Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) the dangerous and all-powerful right-hand man to Henry VIII. 

 

 STORY OF SHARDLAKE SERIES

Despite Shardlake’s unwavering loyalty to Cromwell and the Crown, his position in society is unfavoured due to his appearance, as a person living with scoliosis during the Tudor period, suffering the indignity of being abused as a “crookback” wherever he turns. Anthony Boyle plays the cocky and good-looking Jack Barak, who leaves Shardlake unsure of whether he is an assistant, or Cromwell’s spy. Drenched in mystery, suspense and deception, this four-part drama, is an eerie whodunnit adventure, set in 16th century England during the dissolution of the monasteries. Shardlake’s sheltered life as a lawyer is turned upside down when Cromwell instructs him to investigate the murder of one of his commissioners at a monastery in the remote town of Scarnsea. The commissioner was gathering evidence to close the monastery and it is now imperative for Cromwell’s own political survival that Shardlake both solves the murder and closes the monastery. He leaves Shardlake in no doubt that failure is not an option. Cromwell insists that he is accompanied by Jack Barak to Scarnsea, where the duo are met with hostility, suspicion and paranoia by the monks who fear for their future and will seemingly stop at nothing to preserve their order. Straight from Apple TV Plus today we have first images from their new period set true crime drama MANHUNT which will put its first two episodes on offer from March 15th with Tobias Menzies in the lead role and other five will stream weekly after that every Friday. The series is a historical fiction conspiracy thriller that follows Edwin Stanton's search for John Wilkes Booth after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, basing the story on James L. Swanson's book Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer. After the assassination of Abraham Lincoln (played by Hamish Linklater), his secretary of war and friend, Edwin Stanton, played by Menzies, begins the manhunt to track down John Wilkes Booth, played by Anthony Boyle, as it drives him mad. Lily Taylor plays Lincoln's wife Mary. Hope we get the first trailer soon, so stay tuned.

We have been waiting for this one for years now, but now Apple TV Plus has finally decided to bring us their high end World War II series MASTERS OF THE AIR which is a continuation of the legendary award winning Band of Brothers saga. This time it will be the story of the pilots who had to become masters of the air in order to defeat the enemy planes. Produced again by Steven Spielberg the series will launch January 26th opening the TV season of the new 2024 with two episodes with the rest  of the nine part season streaming weekly till mid March! Our dearest Callum Turner leads the insanely massive, and I must admit exquisitely hunky, cast  which also includes Austen Butler, Anthony Boyle, our German boo Louis Hofmann, Ben Radcliffe, Edward Ashley, Nate Mann, Rafferty Law, Barry  Keoghan, Josiah Cross, Branden Cook, Sam

  the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the “Bloody Hundredth”) as they conduct perilous bombing raids over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air. Portraying the psychological and emotional price paid by these young men as they helped destroy the horror of Hitler’s Third Reich, is at the heart of Masters of the Air. Some were shot down and captured; some were wounded or killed. And some were lucky enough to make it home. Regardless of individual fate, a toll was exacted on them all.
