TOM CRUISE & EMILY BLUNT GO FUTURISTIC IN FIRST EXPLOSIVE 'EDGE OF TOMORROW' SF TRAILER! SPOTLIGHT ON THE SCIENCE FICTION FILM PLUS AMAZING NEW POSTERS!

EDGE OF TOMORROW
THE FIRST TRAILER IS HERE!
Are you ready to check out the first trailer for science fiction action EDGE OF TOMORROW which will arrive to the theatres next June? Tom Cruise plays a raw recruit, pressed into battle against an alien species, who gets killed in action. But he is reborn each day to suffer the same fate.

THE STORY OF TOMORROW
LIVE, DIE, REPEAT!
Lt. Col. William "Bill" Cage (Tom Cruise) and Special Forces soldier Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) team up to fight a hostile alien race known as Mimics, with Cage continually returning to a fatal battle through a time loop. The action of EDGE OF TOMORROW  unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. In the beginning of the story, Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces  warrior Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

TOMORROW'S TIDBITS
BASED ON JAPANESE MANGA
The film was formerly known as ALL YOU NEED IS KILL and it is a big screen adaptation of a Japanese manga (Warner Bros. paid $3 million for the rights). It is directed by action movies director Doug Liman (MR. AND MRS. SMITH, THE BOURNE IDENTITY) while Bill Paxton, Jeremy Piven, Lara Pulver and Jonas Armstrong are also in the cast. Brad Pitt was originally eyed for the role! During the shooting of the film last year, Trafalgar Square in London was completely shut down to allow the production team to film shots for the movie.

  1. After OBLIVION, I am willing to see Tom in a role like this.

    1. It is interesting that he started shooting this one only a few days after he finished shooting OBLIVION, and that beside the almost identical genre he also had stunning partners in both ones - Olga Kurylenko and Emily Blunt :)

  2. Hmm ... not sure about EDGE OF TOMORROW. Guns, guns and more guns. Somewhat tiresome after a while, albeit it does look well done.

    1. I agree... I myself refuse to watch anything with Cruise because I cannot stand him privately. But I do adore Millie Blunt

  3. It looks good and I'm happy to see it's set in London. I'm itching to go back to London for a holiday but this is the closest I'll get for a while.

  7. Emily Blunt is great. But hasn't Cruise fought aliens enough? I really think Cruise is one of the most typecasted actors. The sad thing is that Cruise is actually a good actor. His performance in 'Interview with the Vampire' showed some impressive range. Cruise's Lestat was flawless.

That said, he always plays the same/similar characters in most of his other roles, whether or not it's scifi related. 1) Mission Impossible films 2) Oblivion 3) Jack Reacher 4) Knight and Day 5) Valkyrie 6) War of the Worlds 7) The Last Samurai 8) Minority Report 9) Vanilla Sky 10) The Firm, and the list goes on.

    1. I think he is egoistic enough to see himself as a hero and thus chooses the same roles. I'm with those who cannot stand the like of him :)

  9. I'm not a fan of TC and I see a lot of Iron Men in that movie! Don't think I will watch this one!
