'EXPANSE' SF SERIES TRAILER & CAST PHOTOS WITH TOM JANE, STEVEN STRAIT, SHOHREH AGHDASHLOO! MELANIE SCROFANO, TIM ROZON TO LEAD 'WYNONNA EARP' SUPERNATURAL WESTERN SERIES

'WYNONNA EARP' TV SERIES
GETS LEAD STARS FOR THE CAST
A lil' bit of science fiction for you today, starting with the news coming from SyFy: a month or two ago I informed you that they are turning WYNONNA EARP comic into a thirteen episode television series and now they have revealed the lead actors. Melanie Scrofano (Damien) will take the main role portraying Wynonna, Tim Rozon (Being Human) will take on the job of playing legendary con artist Doc Holliday, while Shamier Anderson (Defiance, Constantine) is going to be the mysterious Agent Dolls.
SUPERNATURAL WESTERN
Scheduled to hit the small screens next April, WYNNONA EARP  is decribed as a modern supernatural Western, in which the story revolves around Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter Wynonna as she battles demons and other supernatural beings and uses her unique abilities and a dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice. Some of her enemies in the comic book include redneck vampires, mummy hitmans, hillbilly gremlins and zombie mailmen!

'THE EXPANSE' SF TV SERIES
TRAILER WITH THOMAS JANE TRAVELLING THE UNIVERSE
Speaking of SyFy, check out the longer, rather vivid and intriguing, trailer and character photos for their new science fiction space set series EXPANSE which will air this December as a ten episode space thriller set two hundred years in the future. The story follows the case of a missing young woman who brings a hardened detective (Thomas Jane) and a rogue ship's captain (Steven Strait) together in a race across the solar system to expose the greatest conspiracy in human history. Shohreh Aghdashloo also stars as the Deputy Undersecretary for the United Nations, Chrisjen Avasarala, a master of politics who achieved her position without a single vote cast in her name! Florence Faivre plays an heir to one of the most powerful corporations in the solar system, who knows the secrets of Earth! Wes Chatham plays ship's calm mechanic. The series is based on the popular New York Times bestselling book series collectively known as "The Expanse," written by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (under the pen name James S. A. Corey)

  4. I've not heard of either of these selections. It's exciting to see how westerns are being reinvented for the modern audience. Firefly must have struck a nerve even ten years later.

    1. SyFy has been hit or miss lately. I started with KILLJOYS and stopped after three episodes, OLYMPUS was unbearable, and I'm still watching DARK MATTER which ain't all that bad :) And DOMINION second season is much better than the first one.

  5. Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter... Is that a fact? Well, her legs sure are more beautiful than mine, and I mean that in a non-sexist way. Of course.

  6. I traveled back in time, to see if you had anything to say about The Expanse. I just watched the first two seasons. I really didn't like Tom Jane's role in the beginning, but then it grew on me. Once that happened I liked the series.
