STAR TREK SERIES RETURNS THIS JULY

The fourth season begins next month

Back in April we had the first teaser for the fourth and the penultimate season of STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS and now we have a full trailer for the series that returns July 23rd with new episodes streaming weekly on Paramount Plus. The streamer has also released a poster for the new season featuring Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck and others who have already shot both final seasons earlier last winter. The final season will have only six episodes, while the fourth one will have the usual ten this summer. It is not impossible that the series might birth a spin off in which Paul Wesley takes over Enterprise as Captain Kirk after guest starring in this series. You can see him in one of the season four images today together with Dan Jeannotte who plays his brother Sam Kirk, a regular crew member of Enterprise. We also know that Thomas Jane will join the last season next year as Doctor Bones and Kai Murakami as Sulu.

When they accidentally kill an Apache scout, the stakes are raised considerably. Eddie Spears and Zane Holtz will also star. The film is out December 5th both in cinemas and digitally so you can choose your way to watch it.

In other sf news today, check out the trailer for Octavia Spencer and Riz Ahmed's sf movie ENCOUNTER. Hitting Amazon Prime Video on December 10th (with a limited cinematic release a week before that), it sees Riz playing a decorated Marine who goes on a rescue mission to save his two young sons from an unhuman threat. As their journey takes them in increasingly dangerous directions, the boys will need to leave their childhoods behind. A lil' bit of science fiction for you today, starting with the news coming from SyFy: a month or two ago I informed you that they are turning WYNONNA EARP comic into a thirteen episode television series and now they have revealed the lead actors. Melanie Scrofano (Damien) will take the main role portraying Wynonna, Tim Rozon (Being Human) will take on the job of playing legendary con artist Doc Holliday, while Shamier Anderson (Defiance, Constantine) is going to be the mysterious Agent Dolls.
