SALMA HAYEK AND LIAM NEESON
"THE PROPHET" ANIMATED MOVIE
Deadline writes that one of the bestselling books ever, THE PROPHET by Kahlil Gibran, which so far got sold in more than 100 million copies worldwide, is getting an animated movie adaptation produced by Salma Hayek. To be directed by Roger Allers, who previously worked on Disney’s "The Lion King", "Aladdin", "Beauty And The Beast", and "The Little Mermaid", the film will be based on Gibran's poems and will have individual chapters directed by many other directors. Salma Hayek has already gathered a strong voice cast  including herself, Liam Neeson, John Krasinski, Frank Langella, Alfred Molina! The book contains THE PROPHETs opinions on love, marriage, children, giving, eating and drinking, crime and punishment, laws, freedom, reason and passion, teaching, friendship, beauty, religion, and death.

RUSSELL CROWE
DIRECTS "THE WATER DIVINER" WW1 DRAMA
While he's scoring success with extreme worldwide blockbuster MAN OF STEEL in which he plays Superman's Daddy, Australian grumpster Russell Crowe is also preparing his first directorial effort. Later this year he will begin shooting THE WATER DIVINER, a historical drama which will be set in 1919 and will follow and Australian father that travels to Turkey to locate his two sons. The brothers went missing during the battle of Gallipoli, which was an unsuccessful attempt by the Allied Powers to control the sea route from Europe to Russia during World War I.

    1. she's a great actress, she should've won an Oscar for FRIDA even though the film itself was badly directed.

  5. All three movies sound wonderful. In the right hands, "The Prophet" could be beautifully rendered. I like the idea of many directors -- I hope each uses a different animation style too. And yay! A Canadian abolitionist in "12 Years a Slave" -- Canada was the final stop on the Underground Railway. Canada had even abolished slavery within our own jurisdiction before the rest of the British Empire did -- little known fact.

Here in my country we never had slaves, only vasal villagers and servants. Yay for Canada :)

    1. it's interesting that in Hollywood lots of men get bigger roles with years, which is opposite with ladies.

  8. No offense to the artists, but all three of these movies sound like total snoozefests. But I guess everything can't be an exciting blockbuster, and some people prefer serious movies anyway. But not me! ;)

  16. Selma is one sexy lady and a good actress.

Brad Pitt is so out of place with the rest of that cast. Jaysus, it's like seeing a sewer rat standing amongst swans.

    1. and she's quite spicy and I love that she married a man older than her instead of going for some hot young hunk. Of course, him being a zillionare helps a bit :)

  17. Russell being Dupe's daddy is more than my red knickers can stand. So far I've refused to see that movie. Have you seen it yet, Dezz? You know I value your opinion. As for Selma, I loved that movie she did about that Mexican painter. She's sex and brains. But I now wonder why Angie Dear married me. True I'm much older, so like Selma she's sex and brains, but the thing is... I'm no zillionaire.
