'THE COLLECTION' WW2 SET
FASHION SERIES WITH TOM RILEY AND RICHARD COYLE
Here's a delight for us! Amazon is preparing new period set series THE COLLECTION set in a post WW2 fashion house with cast lead by our beloved Tom Riley and Richard Coyle! Written and executive produced by Oliver Goldstick (Desperate Housewives, Lipstick Jungle) the 8 part series tells the story of an illustrious Paris fashion house emerging from the dark days of the German occupation. Coyle will play couturier Paul Sabine, Frances de la Tour playing his formidable mother Yvette, Michelle Gomez a fashion editor. Tom Riley is Paul’s brother Claude, a hidden genius, and Mamie Gummer is Paul’s American ex-wife. James Cosmo is Jules Trouvier, the silent partner who bankrolls the Sabine.
'WYNONNA EARP' TV SERIES
THE FIRST TRAILER IS OUT
In the video department, check out the first teaser for SyFy's upcoming new sf series WYNONNA EARP looking cheaper than we thought! Scheduled to hit the small screens next April, WYNNONA EARP is
decribed as a modern supernatural Western, in which the story revolves
around Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter Wynonna as she battles demons
and other supernatural beings and uses her unique abilities and a
dysfunctional posse of allies to bring the paranormal to justice. Some
of her enemies in the comic book include redneck vampires, mummy
hitmans, hillbilly gremlins and zombie mailmen!
Earp's great-grand daughter? Well, I guess I'll have to take a look just to make sure it's happening. :-)
ReplyDeletehope the show won't be as horrible looking as the first teaser
DeleteWynnona Earp looks just cheesy and tongue-in-cheek enough to be worth a look.
ReplyDeletehope VAN HELSING will be better!
DeleteI just can't warm up to westerns mixed with paranormal. I like them both but not mixed.
ReplyDeleteHow you be, Dez? I trust you're having a wonderful day.
But that is why we shall love THE COLLECTION, with that cast and such a setting! Reminds me of BBC's old series THE HOUSE OF ELLIOTT!
DeleteSpeaking of fab post-WW2 fashions, I finally saw the lesbian movie "Carol" this weekend and enjoyed all the retro looks!
ReplyDeleteglad you did! Hope there was some action in it :)
DeleteYeah, a little bit!
Deletesounds spicy!
DeleteWYNNONA EARP sounds..........sigh!
ReplyDeleteexactly
DeleteI love the sense of style, especially that red dress.
ReplyDeletethey were quite fancy in that decade, as if the war never ruined the world
Deletehmm - I don't know I really enjoy paranormal but, I am not sure if I like the western twist with it?
ReplyDeletewe shall wait and see, but it is SyFy so we shall not raise our hopes up
DeleteThat trailer was not doing itself any favors.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely
DeleteYou are right, Dezzy. That first look left a lot to be desired. I'll wait until it hits Netflix, then give it a try. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteit all depends on what other things April will bring us.... beside Dezzy's birthday :)
DeleteWell, you can't top Dezzy's birthday, so they shouldn't even try. It will be the highlight of the month ♥
Deletetoo true :)
DeleteI enjoy looking at fashion through the years. I love the red dress.
ReplyDeletethe series should be filled with period fashion!
DeleteI'm not feeling very confident about the SyFi western, but I do like the clothes in the first one.
ReplyDeletethat one should be filled with great clothes from the post WW2 era!
DeleteWynona Earp looks like Lost Girl in the old west. Not impressive, but I could be wrong, lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well and happy Dezzy, and anticipating a wonderful Valentines Day :)
not really, Valentines is Singles Awareness Day for me :(
DeleteThat's a different concept regarding pre ww2 Era fashion. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.
ReplyDeleteit will be super massive, but you ain't gonna see it since it is British Amazon :PP
DeleteA supernatural Western... Well, lad-di-da. Which is your favorite western, Dezzmeister?
ReplyDeleteThe non existing one :) I don't do Westerns, do I look like a gunslinger to you?
DeleteYou don't have to do them.
DeleteI forgot... my fave western is Lucky Luke porn version :) Seriously, I have them comics... good stuff....
DeleteI know.
DeleteYou do? Which is your fave episode?
DeleteThe cast for THE COLLECTION look so sombre. I hope it will be exciting.
ReplyDeleteYou're right...the trailer left me a bit cold.
it has Tomzie and Dicky, enough for the sweetest of dreams, or did I mean the sweatiest of dreams? :)
DeleteYikes. SyFy is becoming the science fiction version of Lifetime with its movies! Cheesy is cheesy whether it's designed for romance fans or sci-fi/action fans!
ReplyDeletetrue, especially since all of the shows they've released this season from KILLJOYS, ASCENSION, OLYMPUS to DARK MATTER were cheap and rather bad.
