DISNEY'S 'THE FINEST HOURS'
BEN FOSTER JOINS CHRIS PINE
Variety reports today that the latest of the stars to join Disney's upcoming action adventure THE FINEST HOURS is young actor Ben Foster. The cast already includes Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Graham McTavish and Holliday Grainger. The movie will be based on the true story of a 1952 courageous Coast Guard rescue mission (which is considered one of the biggest one in their history), set against one of the worst storms ever to hit the East Coast, during which an oil tanker was literally ripped in half. Facing subzero temperatures and waves as high as 70 feet, four Coast Guard members set off in a lifeboat to rescue over 30 crew members who were stranded in the sinking vessel.
HISTORICAL 'BROOKLYN BRIDGE'
MOVIE GETS DANIEL RADCLIFFE AND BEN KING- SLEY
Another of the upcoming movies to be connected with sea and water in some way
will also be BROOKLYN BRIDGE. This historical drama already has Daniel
Radcliffe, Ben Kingsley and Brie Larson in the cast. To be directed by
Doug McGrath (EMMA, NICHOLAS NICKLEBY, COMPANY MAN) the movie will see Radcliffe playing Washington Roebling, a
talented but inexperienced young engineer who is left in charge of the
construction of the BROOKLYN BRIDGE in the late 19th century after the
death of his father (Kingsley). His wife (Larson) is drawn into his
obsession to realise his father's vision.
STUNNING BANNER TAPESTRY
FOR THE HOBBIT THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES EPIC MOVIE
Mindblowingly stunning new banner tapestry has been released for this year's biggest epic adventure THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES and I've cut it into pieces for you so that you can enjoy all the details on it. It also features Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman, Cate Blanchett as Elven queen Galadriel and Lee Pace as Elven king Thranduil, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Orlando Bloom and Evangeline Lilly as Elven archers, Martin Freeman as Bilbo and Aidan Turner as Kili the Dwarf.
FLAMES OF WAR ARE UPON YOU
The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to the legendary dragon), the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo's ... ... frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf (Sir Ian McKellen), the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide - unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

DeleteDamn, but I really like that Hobbit banner. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteawesome hobbitty possum! New trailer comes in a few weeks
DeleteI'm glad you divided the tapestry so we could see all the pieces. It's awesome! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteyep, it was overly huge in the original shape!
DeleteThe Finest Hours sounds fabulous and I can't wait for final Hobbit movie :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't like the first two, so I'm expecting the last one to really be great and win me over :) Peter Jackson at least knows how to make battle scenes if nothing else...
DeleteWe are waiting to watch them all at once, at home.
ReplyDeletenow, that will be a very long long long watch since the first two lasted for about three hours each if not longer.... And they're a bit boring :) Maybe a Hobbit weekend....
DeleteMy bad, I meant yeah, more of a Hobbit weekend or bits here and there until the story is done. Personally, I don't think they needed three movies to tell this story.
DeleteJust put onion rolls together. They are on their first big rise now. Excited. Yum!
what are onion rolls? I love onions in anything
DeleteWe always do the midnight premier and its so much fun. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteEdge of Your Seat Stories
should be super fun!
DeleteI bet The Finest Hours will be a real nail biter! I am going to have to catch that one!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous imagery for The Hobbit. Thank you, fine sir, for breaking it all down so we could see the detail! I'm sure a lot of it would have been overlooked otherwise.
I especially like the details of the battle around our Elven King Thranduil riding his royal elk :)
DeleteBROOKLYN BRIDGE sounds well worth watching. Dan Radcliffe is turning out to be a mighty fine actor.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the Hobbit - well, can't wait for that!
I couldn't stand him and those other three brats in HARRY PLOPPER, but I'm liking him as a grown up because he has that charming modesty around him
DeleteWell, all I know is that dragon talks too much.
ReplyDeleteI AM FIRE
I.... AM DEATH
To which I added, "I TALK TOO MUCH" and everyone at our local theater started laughing. Hey, it's a comedy after all! Just a very very very very very long long long one. Please no more CGI battles... please?
yep, he's an overly talkative golddigger..... with a bad breath......
Deleteand PS you'd had to hire a lot of really ugly actors if you were to have Orcs without CGI... and I'm not sure Julia Roberts is available :)))
DeleteHonestly, Dezzy, you are naughty sometimes!
Deletewell, she's a true Orc, she is.... and Angelina too....
DeleteWell, my Angelina does say, "Orc!" a lot when she's fast asleep upstairs...
Deletereally?
DeleteSo now I'm wondering... what's going on upstairs?
DeleteYou must take a peak....
DeletePeak... what peak... who said, peak?
Deleteis it peak or peek, I never know....
DeleteI'm dyslexic.... how should I know? Just don't peek at my peak.
Deleteespecially not while you're taking a leak....
Deletepfftttt.....
ReplyDeletenow you're channelling Brad Pitt....
DeleteNo. I'm channeling it from you. You left pfftttt..... on one of your comment to me.
Deletepfftttt.....
I know.... but Brad would say ppfffftt if someone would rightfully trash Angelina :)
DeleteZOMG THE HOBBIT ALL CAPS AWESOMENESS!!!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely
DeleteThose first two movies sound divine. I love historical movies and they're great actors.
ReplyDeleteboth should be rather good
DeleteOh Thorin Oakenshield, you greedy bastard, you break my heart.
ReplyDeleteoh, my, I forgot to mention him among the actors.... hope RA ladies won't kill me....
DeleteI can't wait for Hobbit 3
ReplyDeleteit has to be the best one
DeleteHeck Yes, for the last Hobbits film... for many reasons.
ReplyDeletemusic being among them
DeleteOh, wow. I love that dragon poster!
ReplyDeletewe do love them dragons
DeleteAll of those posters are just so visually stunning. I was staring at them forever. Especially the one with Smaug, who doesn't look all too happy.
ReplyDeleteno, he definitely ain't a happy dragon
