EVA LONGORIA
ABC & NBC BOTH WANT HER TO TOPLINE THEIR SITCOMS
Two big networks are currently trying to lure Eva Longoria over to their side: both NBC and ABC want her to topline their new sitcoms. If she opts to star in NBC's TELENOVELA comedy, which she developed herself, she will play an ambitious telenovela star who struggles to stay on top in a world where the drama on-camera is nothing compared to the drama off-camera. If she chooses the untitled sitcom at ABC she will play a successful home renovator who can’t stop problem solving when she leaves the job site – especially when it comes to her boyfriend, her family, a random delivery guy, and basically everyone she comes into contact with. Eva Longoria's production company has already sold a number of different new TV series projects both to NBC and ABC for the upcoming developmental season.
KIM STANLEY ROBINSON'S 'MARS'
TRILOGY FOR TV ADAPTATION!
Beside Ancient Egyptian series TUT with Ben Kingsley, Spike TV is preparing another epic series: 'Deadline' writes that they will turn Kim Stanley Robinson's science fiction Mars saga into RED MARS TV show! To be written by GAME OF THRONE's producer Vince Gerardis, the story will chronicle the settlement and terraforming of the planet Mars through the intensely personal and detailed viewpoints of a wide variety of characters spanning almost two centuries. More utopian than dystopian, the story focuses on egalitarian, sociological, and scientific advances made on Mars, while Earth suffers from overpopulation and ecological disaster.

'THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS DRAX'
In today's casting updates from Tinseltown, 'Variety' reports that Aaron
Paul will join Irish superhunk Jamie Dornan in THE 9TH LIFE OF LOUIS
DRAX a big screen adaptation of Liz Jensen's bestselling novel! In the
movie to be directed by Alexandre Aya, Dornan will play a psychologist
who begins studying a young boy after a near-fatal fall. The doctor gets
drawn into a complex mystery that blurs the lines between fantasy and
reality. Aaron Paul is going to play the father of the little boy. Don't
forget that later this year, you will watch Paul in ancient Egyptian
sandals in EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS next to Christian Bale!
well then, Eva needs to stop over to my house and let me watch her make me a dozen cookies. grrr!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that will happen, Jeremy.
Deletetwo dozen? :)
DeleteHahahahaha. Sure, why not?
Deletethere is always a dream....
DeleteEva Longoria would be a draw-card for any network.
ReplyDeletetotally, and she is such a successful business woman, if she chooses any of the sitcoms, the 13 episode order is already arranged
Deletenever heard of the novel
ReplyDeleteyou should have, since they won both Hugo and Nebula awards.... But they're from the 90's, maybe you were little then....
DeleteOh, RED MARS sounds cool. I like that it's not going down the dystopian route.
ReplyDeleteCould be really amazing if it tackles the existential questions like WALKING DEAD instead of focusing just on action
DeleteDon't care much about Eva but Red Mars and the 9th Life sound fabulous. I guess I better put Red Mars on my TBR list!
ReplyDeleteIt has three big books each in different Martian colour :)
DeleteI think TELENOVELA sounds like a better fit for Eva. The other one sounds kind of flaky, like the rest of the shows just like it that are on tv right now.
ReplyDeleteHeh, it's the other way around with me :) I would prefer to see her as a designer and not as a diva... but I'm sure she will be amazing in any project that she picks up... It won't be an easy choice for her since she has deep ties with both networks... ABC made her, NBC bought a number of her shows...
DeleteEva should stick with the sitcom she developed. Who would know how to play it better than her?
ReplyDeleteKnowing her, she probably had a part in developing the other one :) She and J.Lo are to Latinas who produce a lot of programmes
DeleteForgot to ad that if she chooses TELENOVELA, Mexican Televisa network will actually produce a Mexican soap that would be used within the sitcom :)
DeleteEva Longoria does have a knack for humor. You could tell that on Desperate Housewives.
ReplyDeletethat show had such an amazing cast!
