'BELLE'S' GUGU MBATHA RAW
JOINS MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY IN 'THE FREE STATE OF JONES'
One of the pretty faces that emerged from recent period set drama BELLE, Gugu Mbatha Raw will join Matthew McConaughey in another period set movie THE FREE STATE OF JONES! To be helmed by 'Hunger Games' director Gary Ross this American Civil War film will tell the little known true story of military leader Newton Knight. Matthew McConaughey will portray the Confederate solider who defected and attempted to establish his own state in Mississippi at the height of the conflict. Gugu Mbatha Raw will play Rachel, a slave whose relationship with Knight played a central part in his rebellion. Before that you will watch her in JUPITER ASCENDING sf epic.

The first trailer has been finally released for this summer's superhero film ANT-MAN starring Paul 
Rudd and directed by Peyton Reed (BRING IT ON)! Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular ANT-MAN suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable
obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Evangeline Lilly is also in the cast as Scott's love interest and Pym's daughter!

DeleteI think I mentioned this on another of your post, but I'm so glad Evangeline Lilly is still working. She'd said after Lost she was going to leave the business, but it looks like she changed her mind. It would have been such a waste if she did.

I can't recall Paul Rudd in anything speculative. I associate him with mainly realism and comedies. I hope to see Ant-Man.

DeleteAnt man. Could be interesting. Rudd? Lilly? Not such a bad pair :) I'm up for a trip to the cinema to see it (although last time I watched Lilly she had me bawling my eyes out. Yes, I cried at The Hobbit) Saw the trailer for Jupiter Ascending the other day too. Now THAT looks interesting :)

DeleteWhen my youngest son read this about Ant-Man he wanted to order his ticket. He's collecting all the marvell movies, so he was pleased they finally will release this one!

DeleteI was used to seeing Paul Rudd in comedies so I thought Ant Man is a spoof ...(like Spider Man...Cat Woman..) but then I watched the trailer and it's serious. I've never heard of Ant Man before. I definitely don't want to anger ant man. I don't want to be swarmed by ants. :)
