Tones of casting news today, people, starting with the movie adaptation of Jojo Moyes novel ME BEFORE YOU which has just added British actors Brendan Coyle and Matthew Lewis to the cast lead by Emilia Clarke as a waitress named Lou, a girl from a small town who is caught between dead-end jobs. She meets Will (Sam Claflin), who is confined to a wheelchair after a motorbike accident. After Lou loses her job, she is hired as a caretaker for the depressed Will and soon becomes determined to show him that life is worth living. Charles Dance, Janet McTeer, Jenna Coleman and Ben Lloyd Hughes also star.

Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg's adaptation of THE BFG (Big Friendly Giant) for Disney, which will bring an exciting tale of a young London girl and the mysterious Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country, has cast Penelope Wilton as The Queen and Rebecca Hall as Mary, the Queen's maid! One of the pretty faces that emerged from recent period set drama BELLE, Gugu Mbatha Raw will join Matthew McConaughey in another period set movie THE FREE STATE OF JONES! To be helmed by 'Hunger Games' director Gary Ross this American Civil War film will tell the little known true story of military leader Newton Knight. Matthew McConaughey will portray the Confederate solider who defected and attempted to establish his own state in Mississippi at the height of the conflict. Gugu Mbatha Raw will play Rachel, a slave whose relationship with Knight played a central part in his rebellion. Before that you will watch her in JUPITER ASCENDING sf epic.
