Before I leave you till Monday so that you can enjoy your New Year's Eve festivities and wild parties, hoping next year will bring us many brilliant new movies and TV series, I shall let you check HOLLYWOOD SPY'S 2016 MUSIC TOP 25, our traditional song list, and you can tell us below what were your favourite hits that you loved last 12 months. Given how crappy music has become our list is largely international, so this is your chance to find some wonderful new songs from around the world!

I'm absolutely sure you will agree with me that this was one number one song this year that made you smile and shake your bums! I bet it was the most played song around the world as well!

2. LADY GAGA - Million Reasons

We did not get a lot of quality ballads this year, especially not as emotional and powerful as this one is!

3. MARKUS FEEHILY -Sanctuary

I admit that I could not stop singing this one all year around, mellow, loving, gorgeous, tender, strong, with beautiful video, it comes straight from Ireland.

4. HOZIER - Better Love

This would also be the best movie song of the year, spectacular and deeply moving ballad from The Legend of Tarzan!

5. X AMBASSADORS - Unsteady

Another outstanding movie song of 2016, it was  the lead song in one of this year's best movies Me Before You! It better get an Oscar nom!

6. CLEAN BANDIT & SEAN PAUL - Rockabye

Seanzy really was active this year! Dance anthem of the year!

7. NICOLE SCHERZINGER & WILL I AM - Monalisa 
Just listen to Nicole's operatic singing! Divine!

I didn't get to show you this one yesterday, but it is such a delight that it is never to late for it: new, extended trailer has been released for this year's biggest romantic movie ME BEFORE YOU, the big screen adaptation of Jojo Moyes' international bestselling book which will romance its way into theatres June 3rd starring Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke.

Often times you find love where you least expect it. Sometimes it takes you where you never expected to go... Louisa "Lou" Clark (Emilia Clarke) lives in a quaint town in the English countryside. With no clear direction in her life, the quirky and creative 26 year old goes from one job to the next in order to help her tight knit family make ends meet. Taking a job at the local "castle," she becomes caregiver and companion to Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a wealthy young banker who became wheelchair bound in an accident two years prior, and whose whole world changed dramatically in the blink of an eye. TO TURN 'A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC' INTO MINI SERIES

It's kinda of a Gerard Butler day today here at HOLLYWOOD SPY, not that you will mind, right? His production house has just acquired rights on V. E. Schwab's fantasy novel A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC which they are looking to develop into mini TV series. As 'Deadline' writes, The book is set in four parallel worlds, with four parallel Londons ruled by different magical powers and monarchies. Grey London, where the people have been told that magic is a myth; Red London, where magic is embraced and thrives; White London, where magic is used by the rulers against it’s people; and Black London, where magic has overpowered the people and corrupted the world beyond repair.

One of our most anticipated movie delights of the year, Gerard Butler's ancient Egyptian adventure GODS OF EGYPT has a new trailer and new posters ahead of the February 26th release!

And a much anticipated first trailer for this year sweetest romantic movie ME BEFORE YOU is also out today! Out this June, the adaptation of Jojo Mojes best selling book will see Emilia Clarke playing Louisa Clark, a British small town working class girl who loses her café job. She's compelled to take the first available employment, despite being woefully unqualified — caretaking for a quadriplegic. Her charge turns out to be the upper-class William Traynor (Sam Claflin), injured after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the street. Things start off rocky because of Traynor's anger and despondence, but Louisa's effervescence eventually breaks through and romance blossoms.

Tones of casting news today, people, starting with the movie adaptation of Jojo Moyes novel ME BEFORE YOU which has just added British actors Brendan Coyle and Matthew Lewis to the cast lead by Emilia Clarke as a waitress named Lou, a girl from a small town who is caught between dead-end jobs. She meets Will (Sam Claflin), who is confined to a wheelchair after a motorbike accident. After Lou loses her job, she is hired as a caretaker for the depressed Will and soon becomes determined to show him that life is worth living. Charles Dance, Janet McTeer, Jenna Coleman and Ben Lloyd Hughes also star.

PENELOPE WILTON IS QUEEN IN 'BFG'
Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg's adaptation of THE BFG (Big Friendly Giant) for Disney, which will bring an exciting tale of a young London girl and the mysterious Giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country, has cast Penelope Wilton as The Queen and Rebecca Hall as Mary, the Queen's maid! Mark Rylance is playing the titular role!

One of our most anticipated of the new book adaptations Jojo Mojes ME BEFORE YOU has  new cast members: Jenna Coleman (DR WHO) and Charles Dance (GAME OF THRONES, it is interesting that Coleman has been dating Dance's GOT fellow cast member Richard Madden for four years now) will join another GOT star Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin in the story of two very different characters: Lou (Emilia Clarke), a small town girl caught between dead end jobs and Will (Sam Claflin), a high profile, successful man who becomes wheelchair bound following an accident. Will has decided his life is not worth living until Lou is hired for six months to be his new caretaker. Worlds apart and trapped together by circumstance, the two get off to a rocky start. Lou becomes determined to prove to Will that life is worth living and as they embark on a series of adventures together, each finds their world changing in ways neither of them could begin to imagine.

Your trailer this Sunday is for a movie which is only now getting into UK and USA (in limited release this April) cinemas: CLOSER TO THE MOON starring Mark Strong, Harry Lloyd (another GOT star today), Vera Farmiga, Joe Armstrong, is set  in 1959 Bucharest and the story is following a Romanian police officer who teams up with a small crew of old friends from the World War II Jewish Resistance to pull off a heist by convincing everyone at the scene of the crime that they are only filming a movie.
