DANNY BOYLE TO HELM INGENIOUS PAIN
Meanwhile, TRAINSPOTTING and TRANCE director Danny Boyle has revealed to Digital Spy that his next project will be a period one. He didn't say anything more, but he previously mentioned that he wants to helm adaptation of Andrew Miller's novel INGENIOUS PAIN which takes place in 18th century England and Russia and centres on James Dyer, a surgeon who is impervious to physical pain.
ARTHUR NEWMAN TRAILER
They're having the time of everybody else's life! That's the motto of ARTHUR NEWMAN, a delightful new romantic comedy drama with two dear Brits Colin Firth and Emily Blunt. Wallace Avery(Colin Firth) is tired of being a loser. Once a hot shot in the world of competitive amateur golf, Wallace failed miserably when he turned pro. Ten years after retiring from the pro tour, he's lost his job. His ex-wife openly pities him. And his son hates him. Unable to face his life of quiet desperation any longer, Wallace stages his own death and buys himself a new identity as ARTHUR NEWMAN. His road trip towards a new life is derailed by the entrance of a beautiful loose cannon, Mike Fitzgerald (Emily Blunt), who's running from her own past. Driving cross country, this mismatched pair of damaged souls begins to connect as they break into empty homes and take on the identities of the absent owners: elderly Southern newlyweds, preening hipsters, a golf champ and his Russian wife, among others.
An offbeat love story set in a perfect storm of identity crisis, ARTHUR NEWMAN looks at how two people try to remake themselves and come around to owning up to some basic truths about the identities they left at home
WHITE HOUSE DOWN TRAILER
Well, the trailer says it openly - if Americans ever lose their freedom it will be when they destroy themselves. So very true. They've always beentheir own worse enemy. This is the first trailer for second movie this year in which White House is under attack. WHITE HOUSE DOWN will see Channing Tatum turning from stripper to saviour! He portrays John Cale, a cop who is touring the White House with his daughter, when 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is taken over by a paramilitary group who kidnaps the President of the United States (Jamie Foxx), making John the only one who can save the commander-in-chief's life. Directed by Roland Emmerich (who already had fun destroying White House in INDEPENDENCE DAY) the film, about to hit cinemas in June, also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Woods!
Thanks for all the updates Dezzy ~ North of Hell looks interesting and to see Channing as the saviour, whew, he looks very good ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Holy Week ~
be welcome, Grace, I thought you would like ARTHUR NEWMAN best :)
DeleteHope you are planning nice Easter!
"Arthur Newman" sounds good! And a real challenge for the actors to portray. But I know Colin Firth will be up to it! And Emily Blunt as well, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteit seems like a brilliant story with lovely catharsic moments! Kinda like Emily's SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN was (my absolute faybritt movie last year :)
DeleteI've been waiting for the time when Blunt and Firth act together. They haven't acted together before now, have they? I'm excited for that.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny though that both of the British actors are using American accents.
DeleteI don't think they have, I'd love to see her playing with so many great British actors! She was amazing with Ewan in SALMON FISHING and also amazing with Rupert Friend in YOUNG VICTORIA. She always has amazing chemistry with her partners.
DeleteYay, Colin Firth and Emily Blunt! That will be good and I don't know diddly about golf.
ReplyDeleteWe think Channing is delicious, but I don't want to see this movie. The sight of the White House being blown up isn't palatable.
I've no idea about golf either, darling :)
DeleteAnd American obsession with terrorism is also something which makes me puke....
It almost seems like inviting trouble to show such images.
DeleteI agree with both of you. I'm not liking all these terrorist themed films.
Deletethat is how they prepare their nation for new foreign invasions - by using films ....
DeleteMovies and tv started this stuff right after 9/11 and I was shocked by it. I do think it is another form of spreading fear because a scared people are easier to control. The government and media really do try to manipulate how people think.
Deleteand the scary thing is that the Americans don't really see this. They are feeding them with so much fear and violence and tension on TV that later on those things won't shocked them much in the real life and they will easily allow it because it will become something fictionalized to them.
DeleteLove Emily!! And I am so sorry for not being around more recently Dez...read my post in a couple of hours and it will explain it all!
ReplyDeletehope it's nothing serious, Mel
DeleteI've also been rather cranky in recent weeks due to bandages and bruises which hurt like hell....
I do wish you had someone to help you do your cooking and cleaning at home darling. And someone to nurse you along till you feel better.
DeleteI wish it so too, Annzie, but no help for me. I'm used to surviving everything on my own.
DeleteI know you are darling. It would be nice though if your brother at least would help with the house rather than giving you more work to do.
DeleteI'd probably die of shock if he'd help in any way. In these two and a half weeks after the surgery, it hasn't even fallen upon his mind to clean the bathroom, so I risked bleeding out by doing it myself.... That's how it is...
Deleteokay they make one movie to take down the united states and then another, we must be thinking how easy it is to break our government.... we are heading for a total meltdown.
ReplyDeletethey do it in order to create paranoia and justify their new attacks on other countries which they will then rob of oil or other resources....
Deletesad that our gov, is stealing from the people... we cannot stand up. i am moving to the moon. you asked the best seller for my designs... http://www.neatoshop.com/product/Blinded-Me-with-Science
Deletehave a glorious day my friend!
Send us a postcard from the Moon, and if you pop over to Mars tell Dejah Thoris I said hello!
DeleteThat's an interesting T.shirt!
I have to agree with Anne - but Arthur Newman and North of Hell both sound interesting :)
ReplyDeletewe do like ARTHUR NEWMAN :)
DeleteI love Parick Wilson (he's hot) so I hope it's good. I'm lukewarm on Heigl.
ReplyDeleteArthur Newman looks like fun!
We adore Patrick, he's the most underrated actor ever!
DeleteDidn't even know about any of these, but then, I live in the dark ages. Plus, I get all my shows a year or so later. But that's okay with me.
ReplyDeleteI've announced these about a year or two ago and you haven't been around then so you couldn't have heard about them :)
DeleteI never hear about new shows unless it's hear or other online things.
DeleteDud, here. And yes, I get freebies all the time. It's the fun of couponing.
Deletenom nom on the freebies :)
DeleteDo you have coupons where you live?
Deleteof course not :( We don't even have a hundredth part of the goodies you have in stores, and coupons are just a dream.... :)
DeleteHmmm, other than seeing some stuff get blown up, I didn't see any compelling story line for White House Down. But if anything can save America, it's a stripper with Channing Tatum's abs. :)
ReplyDeleteyep, strippers will save us all :)
Deletemust be why there's so many of them
Deletelol Yes Channing Tatum's Abs for President!
DeleteI running for his vice president then :)
Deletetee,hee ;D
Delete:)
DeleteI did always want to find myself under him.... :)
DeleteArthur Newman looks like a fun road trip, lol
ReplyDeleteI mean movie~ I miss my days of traveling...every three years a new home,a new town or city to discover!
it really seems like a delightful movie with a touching moments and fun moments
DeleteColin and Emily look wonderful together, I adore the both of them. I think this is going to be a really intriguing film and can;t wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteyep, I love it when light films have deep moments too and when they inspire like this one.
DeleteNorth of Hell sounds interesting, not too sure about the lovey dovey Arthur Newman though.
ReplyDeleteLOL, ah, we'll never make a romantic soul out of you, RAy :)
DeleteHey Ray, it's great to see you over here!
DeleteLurk made him come over by posting WAR WORLD Z poster at his place :)
DeleteWhite House Down for me then!
ReplyDeleteyes, sir
DeleteI love Emily Blunt. She doesn't love me back. :(
ReplyDeleteDo you think she loves vanilla? :D
DeleteI have the same problem with her husband John Krasinski - love him, doesn't love me back :(
DeleteDid you know that Emily's best friend is Anne Hathaway?
Emily is my dearest actress after Cate Blanchett and Catherine Zeta Jones.....
That loser! Well, I'm sure he'll regret it when he writes his biography. No, I didn't know that. I saw a movie in which she gets hit by a truck. I really hated that moment. Why did she have to die, you horrible horrible director? You know? Yes, you've told me before about Cate being number one. Come to think of it.... who is my favorite actress? I own 700 DVD's and I've got no idea.... How did that happen?
ReplyDeleteprobably because you ponder on Patrick Duffy too much in your free time, dear Mandy :PPP
DeleteOn the positive side, Luke Evans, the star of THE HOBBIT, IMMORTALS and THREE MUSKETEERS did once say that he loves me publicly :)
Did you put it on YouTube?
Deletenope, but I did put it on Facebook to regal the crowds :)
