LEE PACE IN AMC 80'S COMPUTER SHOW "HALT AND CATCH FIRE"!

We shall have tones of casting news for new shows and pilots today starting with our favourite Lee Pace whom you watched as mesme-
rizing Elven king Thranduil leading his elven armies while riding his royal elk in THE HOBBIT. He is returning to TV after PUSHING DAISIES a few years ago. Now he will lead the cast in AMC's HALT AND CATCH FIRE! Set in the early '80s, the drama revolves around the personal computing boom and is told through the eyes of a visionary and an engineer and prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their partnership will be challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas' Silicon Prairie. THR reports that Lee Pace will play Joe MacMillan, who is often the smartest guy in the office and two steps ahead of both friends and enemies. Once a superstar salesman at IBM, he recently departed under mysterious circumstances only to resurface at an also-ran Dallas tech company. He arrives in Dallas with a plan to force the company into the new era of the PC boom. Mackenzie Davis will play a punk computer programming grad student whose aggressive behaviour covers a vulnerability. Her ambition is a magnet for MacMillan!

  2. That was one of the coolest/nerdiest moments in The Hobbit, when the Elven king appeared on his elk/caribou.

And the modernization of Sleepy Hollow might be interesting. We'll see.

Also, I've never heard of Devin Kelley, but she is quite stunning in that photo. Very beautiful.

    1. I screamed in bliss when Thranduil appeared on the elk leading his elven armies :) I generally thought the film was really bad and boring and only enjoyed the moments without the hobbits - Thranduil arrival, the White Council with Galadriel, Gandalf and Saruman, and the crazy Goblin King he was ever so crazy :)

  3. Do you think the 80's is the next "thing" for television, Dezzy? We are watching a new series on FX called the Americans that is set in the 80's and now here's Halt and Catch Fire coming out. I wonder if the start of trend?

I hope not, but we already have that CARRY'S DIARIES set in the decade.... horrid.... I liked the 80's, they were safe and peaceful and family oriented, but I love future.

  6. Hundred sounds interesting, though I wouldn't doubt it if it quickly became a social commentary of how people can't cooperate together for a common good.

  7. I've watched and read enough zombie and necromancer movies to know the only way to not return from the dead is to be cremated. Please come dig me up and burn my body Dezzy if my family disregards my wishes :)

    1. that is my wish too, Donnzie, and I also want my ashes to be put into the ground with seeds of some magnificent tree so that my death could give life to something. Maybe some tree that gives fruit to feed kids and other people. Maybe a hazelnut or almond or something...

    2. I remember when I was a kid I'd watch the original Battlestar Galactica. I'm sure I don't want to see it now. It would ruin the distorted memories.
