"MERLIN'S" KATIE MCGRATH JOINS JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS IN "DRACULA"! NEW "THE MUPPETS AGAIN!" PICTURES, "JACK THE GIANT SLAYER" & "ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH" POSTERS!

Oooh! Exciting news for NBC's upcoming new historical show DRACULA in which Jonathan Rhys Meyers will take off the crown he wore in THE TUDORS and put on some nasty fangs in order to portray the title role. MERLIN's star Katie McGrath, who played Morgana in the BBC epic show, has joined the cast and will play Lucy Westenra, a London socialite who is friends with Mina Murray - to be played by Arrow's Jessica De Gouw! Nonso Anozie from GAME OF THRONES is another addition to the cast and will appear as Renfield, the loyal accomplice of Dracula. The ten part series will be set in the 1890s London, where Dracula acts as an American businessman whose true aim is to seek revenge on those who ruined his life. However, his plans are thwarted when he falls in love with Mina, who resembles his deceased wife. Mina, who is described as forward-thinking, clever and independent, is the only female studying medicine at London's University College.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
Now, you already know that after the recent success, our favourite Muppets are coming back. The official new title of the sequel is THE MUPPETS... AGAIN! The film is currently shooting in Britain for a 2014 release. The first pictures have been released showing
Miss Piggy, Kermit and the rest of the gang at London subway, and with Ricky Gervais who joins the cast along with Tina Fey! The sequel takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theatres in some of Europe's most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas,
as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine - the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit - and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two (Gervais)! The film will have tones of celebrity cameos!
You can also check out two lovely new posters for JACK THE GIANT SLAYER, epic adventure starring Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy and Ian McShane, which hits theatres March 1st and follows a farmer's son Jack who unwittingly opens a gateway between the giants' world and ours, and must step up and fight for what he believes in, and for the love of a fair princess!

ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH CHARACTER POSTERS
And freshly released from The Weinstein Company are new character posters for animated adventure ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH which opens up in cinemas February 14th right on Valentines Day! The 3D animated family comedy catapults moviegoers to planet Baab where admired astronaut Scorch Supernova (Brendan Fraser) is a national hero to the blue alien population. A master of daring rescues, Scorch pulls off astonishing feats with the quiet aid of his nerdy, by-the-rules brother, Gary (Rob Corddry), head of mission control at BASA. When BASA no-nonsense
chief Lena (Jessica Alba) informs the brothers of an SOS from a notoriously dangerous planet, Scorch rejects Gary’s warnings and bounds off for yet another exciting mission. But when Scorch finds
himself caught in a fiendish trap set by the evil Shanker (William Shatner) it’s up to scrawny, risk-adverse Gary to do the real rescuing.
As the interplanetary stakes rise to new heights, Gary is left to save his brother, his planet, his beloved wife Kira (Sarah Jessica Parker) and their adventure hungry son Kip!

  11. I recently saw a Ricky Gervais standup comedy show - it was one of the funniest (and very clever) routines I've seen in years. The Muppet movies have always been a favourite of mine too so the combination should be a real hoot!

At the mention of 'historical' I first thought they'd be going back to good old Vlad Dracule in good old Trannsylvannia fighting off the Turkish hordes - now THAT would be a grisly vampire movie - but no, its yet another set in Victorian London. Can't say it inspires me to see it as its been done to death (film-wise) already - regardless of how smokin' hawt young Kate is!

  21. I love seeing that Katie is doing new things. I've been watching the last season of Merlin, and I'm not looking forward to it ending. But I guess it's inevitable. I do want to find out if Bradley James has got any bigger projects lined up. I think he's just gorgeous and needs to have a good movie (nothing cheesy) that has a great plot so that he can show Americans what he can do. I think that those kinds of roles can be difficult to snag though since everyone wants them.

The Giant movie looks terrible. I look at it and think...oh Ewan McGregor...has your career fallen so much? But then I think it's weird that I don't bust his chops for being in Star Wars. Maybe I'm prejudiced because every Star Wars movie is going to be as cheesy as that Jack the Giant Killer movie is. Only for some reason, I can dismiss my prejudice because it's Star Wars.

My favorite line Ewan McGregor ever said was delivered in this awful sci-fi movie with Scarlet Johansen where he talked about philandering and had to define it as "lots and lots of sex."

I was like...mmhmm, if I looked like Ewan McGregor, I'd be a huge slut.

    1. I still didn't gather strenght to watch the last season of MERLIN since I cannot bear to watch that horrible Guinevere as the queen.

Sadly, I think that so far, Bradley is the only one without future projects. Colin has a guest role in a BBC new series, Kathie goes to DRACULA and even Eoin Macken has a gig in a new medical show in USA, not to mention that my beloved Tom Hopper will star in BLACK SAILS pirate shows.

I kinda like GIANT SLAYER movie, and will always defend epic adventures even when they are bad (which might not be the case with this one) and I love Ewan for making choices like this. He is just playful and warm, like Brendan Fraser. And I will forever love him for starring in two of my fave films MOULIN ROUGE and SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN.

    1. they're trying to catch up after a long delayed marketing campaign with a bunch of really nice posters, but I'm afraid the fanboys have been trashing the film already around their lurking places :( It is one of the very few movies I'm looking forward to this year.
