Here are some exciting news for all you fans of Peter Jackson and his upcoming epic fantasy THE HOBBIT. According to "OneRingNet" new actors have just been signed for the prequel of LORD OF THE RINGS.
Cate Blanchett will reprise her role from LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy as Galadriel, the Elven queen of Lothlorien. Ken Stott (CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR) will play the Dwarf Lord Balin, Sylvester McCoy (DOCTOR WHO) will play the wizard Radagast the Brown, while Swedish actor Mikael Persbrandt will play the shape-shifter Beorn. British actor Ryan Gage (OUTLAW) will play Drogo Baggins, with New Zealand actors Jed Brophy (LOTR, DISTRICT 9) playing the role of the dwarf Nori, and William Kircher (LEGEND OF THE SEEKER) rounding out the company of Thorin Oakensheild in role of the dwarf Bifur. They will all go to the Middle Earth to join Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins), Richard Armitage (ROBIN HOOD), Aidan Turner (BEING HUMAN), Rob Kazinsky (TVs “EastEnders”)...
And here's the second super exciting trailer for next February's sci-fi film I AM NUMBER FOUR with the gorgeous cast including Alex Pettyfer, Diana Agron, Teresa Palmer, Timothy Olyphant and Kevin Durand. The film, directed by D.J. Caruso (EAGLE EYE, DISTURBIA), will follow the group of nine earthbound alien teens who escaped their home planet just before it was destroyed by a hostile species. While the high school-aged kids assimilate by blending into a high school on Earth, one of them discovers that he is being hunted by the enemy that blew up his planet. I just love the part when Teresa Palmer appears in the trailer and says - "I'm number six" :)
Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god! Anything Hobbit related is for the win! I'm so excited. Also, it's interesting that they're going to include Radagast the Brown, since he really isn't in the book. That's okay with me though.
ReplyDeleteTweeting your post now Dez, thanks!
I believe Galadriel doesn't appear in the original J. R. R. Tolkien "The Hobbit" novel. But I think it's okay watching Kat in that glowing pale blondy character again, at least Jackson’s happy :)
ReplyDelete@Matt
ReplyDeleteyes, it appears there will be other elements and characters in the film which do not appear in the book.
Thanks for tweeting :))
@Jaccsy
yes, Jackson and me too :) The queen of my Elven people will shine again :)))
And since when you identify yourself in that group? I believe you're from those lot of tentacles side ;P :))))
ReplyDeleteah, Jaccsy, I didn't even know what tentacles were until you started mentioning them in every other comments and post of yours :) I'm just glad you've never misspelled a certain letter in the word :PPPP
ReplyDeleteOf course not coz I totally believe that word is (secretly) very familiar with you, even you're too shy to admit it ;PPP :))))
ReplyDeleteTHE HOBBIT!!! YAY! :)
ReplyDeleteand
WHOAAAA!!! i am number four- dude. whoa.
Yay for The Hobbit! I am SO glad Cate will be doing Galadriel again.
ReplyDeleteThat second movie looks awesome, by the way.
So I saw the trailer to "I am Number Four" and thought it looked awesome. Then I did some research, discovered it was based on a book by the author James Frey, who went under a pen name.
ReplyDeleteMr. Frey has been involved in conduct that I just can't agree with as a fellow writer. It's so unethical, that I can't bring myself to watch what I think will be an awesome movie or read what has been reviewed as a good book.
If you have some time, check out the controversy section of his wikipedia article.
But the Hobbit is totally gaga-worthy! :)
I Am Number Four looks like Twilight with aliens.

I thought Disturbia was very well done so now that I see the same director's behind #4 I'll see it for sure. I agree w/ Arlee on his description!
ReplyDeleteSOunds like great movies coming up. Love Blanchett, she's a great actress as well as Freeman and Armitage.

@Vics
ReplyDeletethat's Alex Pettyfer, you can find some of his hotter pics :) if you use the search button in my sidebar :)
@Emily
hey, Emily, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY :) Glad you like today's news, and Cate Blanchett one especially.
@Stephanie
oh, I heard something about that before, but I've never really read the whole story, and now I did over at that article. It's horrible. I work in a publishing industry and I know that publishing houses often like to abuse their workers but this is really horrible.
@Arlee
ReplyDeleteI think you already said that before :)
@Lisa
hope it will be a nice movie, as the trailer shows
@Clarissa
we all LOOOOOOVE Blanchett :)
Yeah, but Lisa from Nadir agreed with me so I guess it bore repeating. Besides, as you get older you start repeating yourself a lot. :D

Glad Kate has joined the crew!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see Beorn will be in the Hobbit...but did I miss the part where Galadriel and Radagast are involved in the story? He must be supplementing the story with some history behind the Ring or something...(which would make sense since it's two movies and *yawn*)
ReplyDeleteHe..he... great minds think (or in this case post) alike :) LOVE that photo of Blanchett, you're always good in finding great pics... too risque for me at times though, you naughty boy, you :D
ReplyDeleteBtw, with Cate, Michael Fassbender AND Richard Armitage in The Hobbit, that's hands down my top most anticipated movie of 2012!
I reckon Sylvester McCoy would work well as Radagast
ReplyDelete@Arlee
ReplyDeleteolder? I thought you're young and fresh as daisy :)
@Alex
not as glad as me!
@MJ
yawn, yawn, yawn :))
@Flixy
oh, please, which of my pics were too risque??? :))) My rule is as nude as possible without showing the most hidden parts (not that I don't love those as well). I want a proof immediately :)
Fassbender is in THE HOBBIT? I thought that was just a rumor. It wasn't confirmed officially.
@Lynda
oh, Lyndylove, one hot chocolate coming for you immediately with a cappuccino cookie and cream :)
Excited about the Hobbit. I bet you can guess why. =)
ReplyDeleteWasn't there a short-lived television series similar to the plot of I Am Number Four? Sounds vaguely familiar...
oh, Lil'Vics, I've absolutely no idea who your favourite member of THE HOBBIT cast is :))
ReplyDeletereally pleased Cates reprising her role, its great news, woop.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing some mega-woops with you, Agent Sanders! ;)
ReplyDeleteAgghh Cate Blanchett! LOVE her!
ReplyDeleteI actually liked Disturbia so I'll probably check out I Am Number 4.
That movie looks awesome. Thanks for the trailer :)
ReplyDelete@Amanda
ReplyDeleteAgghh we all LOVE her :)))
@Rosie
glad you like it Rosie! ;)
Just checked the movie awards - looks like you're going to win two for sure!
ReplyDeleteI think the movie trailer looks great! I do see the edge of Twilight, with the high school setting and falling for an unique, odd man out, but I think it will be different and great special effects. I think the story line will be much more interesting~
ReplyDeleteGlad Cate is on board and I like Aidan Turner. He is a good actor~ Thanks Dezz!
i am looking forward to the hobbit, for sure.
ReplyDelete@Alex
ReplyDeleteI must admit I haven't been checking up the results for weeks, since I wanted to be surprised :) I hope my gorgeous little creatures are voting for their Spy, for their Captain Ninja and for their princess Shells :)
@Ella
you watched Aidan Turner in something?I didn't know he was known over in USA. That's lovely. I loved him in BEING HUMAN.
@Ed
something to be happy about in two or three years :)
I am number four looks even better now than it did before! Kinda wish they'd have used a different generic name instead of John Smith. but, hey...whatever! This one looks good!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, too many to mention, Dezzy... but the last one was that Victor guy (see, I can't remember the last name as I was too distracted by the photo) he..he.. Oh right, Fassbender is still listed as 'rumored' on IMDb, but hopefully it'll be confirmed soon!
ReplyDelete@Scarlet
ReplyDeleteit does look even better!
@Flixy
but you couldn't see anything of importance in Victor's pic :))) It was much more innocent than I would wish for :) I admit the only close-to-cross-the-limit pic was the one with Tom Hardy showing some of his pubic hair, but he's allowed to do that being naturally naughty :)
Keeping my fingers crossed for Fass Our Benders Michael.
Dez! I sooo love your reviews, I say it every time but I just can't get over how much you site makes me go crazy for the upcoming entertainment! I don't always get to come here, but when I do, I just love to linger and bask in your amazing site. It is like heaven~ I soo love that you are up on the know. I soo want to see I am number 4! I loved it when I went to Harry Potter opening night and saw the trailer you had about Red riding hood. I was ....I saw that on Dezmond's site... I love this trailer. Thanks for being you! I love it so much!! =0)
ReplyDeletethanks for these lovely words, Debbs dearest. Everything you said is basically the reason I made the site - for people to linger totally relaxed and entertained around here, getting some excitement for the movies (and other kinds of excitement LOL), and to just feel the warm and positive atmosphere which will fill them with energy. I hope I managed to achieve that goal :)
ReplyDeleteBIG LOVE FROM YOUR HOLLYWOOD SPY ;)
Cate Blanchett in The Hobbit, a great news for me. Thanks for this post, loved it.
ReplyDeleteNB:
Beatiful picture of Cate, you have there <3
S. Sharp
glad you like the photo, Sharp ;) Cate always have beautiful pics and I can't wait for a new opportunity to use them at HOLLYWOOD SPY :)
