One hope remains, rumours of a village that is unaffected by the deadly disease. As Gods ambassador, young monk Osmund (Eddie Redmayne) is tasked in leading the fearsome knight Ulrich (Sean Bean) and his group of mercenaries to the remote village. Their quest is to hunt down a necromancer - someone able to bring the dead back to life. Their journey is treacherous and filled with danger, encountering deadly bandits and vicious witch-burnings that will put their faith to the ultimate test. Though its upon entering the village that their true horror begins... You can check out the trailer in one of HOLLYWOOD SPY's old posts.

ABC AND MARVEL MAKING SHOW ON SUPER-HEROINE "AKA JESSICA JONES". LYNN COLLINS AND ROSARIO DAWSON JOIN SEXY CAST OF "TEN YEAR". STUNNING NEW POSTER FOR SEAN BEAN'S "BLACK DEATH"
With the upcoming TV shows on RAVEN, WONDER WOMAN, HULK and BATMAN it really seems super heroes are moving to the small screens. According to "MovieWeb" ABC is planning a TV show based on Marvel comic book AKA JESSICA JONES. The story will center on a superhero dubbed "Jewel" who decides to put away the costume and try for a normal life after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. She starts up her own private detective firm, but realizes she still wants to help people and ends up coming to the aide of other superheroes. The bad news is that it will be adapted by the TWILIGHT screenwriter :(

The cast of the ensemble drama TEN YEAR is getting more and more star studded: two gorgeous girls Lynn Collins and Rosario Dawson have just joined the incredibly sexy cast which includes Jenna Dewan and her husband Channing Tatum, Anna Faris, Justin Long, Kate Mara, Chris Pine, John Krasinski, Brian Geraghty, Chris Pratt, Scott Porter and other perfect examples of human gorgeousness :) The film will center on a group of friends which reunite a decade after their high school graduation.

Jessica Jones sounds like it might be a fun watch.

Thoughts in Progress
yep, wonder whom will they choose for the lead actress in it!
ReplyDeleteThat Jessica Jones series sounds like it could be good. However, my favourite would be if they did that Batman series, provided they do it well. And I hope that Sean Bean movie comes here, cause it sounds great!
ReplyDeleteJessica Jones sounds really exciting. It will be interesting to see who they cast as the lead. I have to say I'm looking forward especially to Wonder Woman. She has always been my girl. Growing up, all I wanted were those red boots and golden lasso. :)I've seen the trailers for Black Death and I sure hope it comes here. I love Sean Bean.
ReplyDelete@Bryan
ReplyDeletewell, as we both know, BATMAN show is apparently planned to premiere in a few years, so your wish will be fulfilled :)
@Melissa
We are all keeping our fingers crossed that both shows will get some great young actresses with a lot of charisma and talent.
I remember seeing the trailer for Black Death & being impressed by it. Sure hope it comes to the US--soon!
ReplyDeleteCool poster for Black Death.
ReplyDelete@Lisa
ReplyDeleteyep, I've published the trailer back in April :)
@Alex
have you noticed the charming rats on the poster? :)
To our good friend Dezmond, Merry Christmas and a happy new year, and a great hug from Brasil!
ReplyDeleteI wondered what happened to Black Death and then all of a sudden it appeared on DVD. If I don't get it for Christmas then I'll check it out soon after :)
ReplyDelete@Thomaz
ReplyDeletethanks, dear Thomaz, I hope you and the whole Brazil will have marvelous holidays!
@Jamie
yep, it was one of those movies which never really get into real distribution.
Love the poster for Black death but the show looks a bit dark and violent for me. Bring on the sparkly superheroes! ;)
ReplyDeleteI can recommend Black Death, if you like serious period films. Yes it's grim and violent but still a very good film. Eddie Redmayne is particularly well-cast. And there's Sean of course! :-)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Dez, wishing you a fun 2011!
Love the poster for Black Death. I also love Sean Bean. Should be a great movie!
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting my blog in your sidebar dear Dezmond :)
wow! that black death poster looks amazing! and i think the story sounds really interesting! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are certainly going mad with all the superhero stuff especially now 10 year old Smallville is coming to an end. I am a sucker for it though
ReplyDelete@Lynda
ReplyDeleteyep, we want sparkly superheroes, not the dark morbid ones :)
@Anonymous
thanks, Anonymous who ever you are and we wish you the same for 2011. Here at HOLLYWOOD SPY we absolutely adore Eddie Redmayne. He was especially amazing in PILLARS OF THE EARTH.
@Wendy
ReplyDeletethe poster is great isn't it? Your blog was there before as well, but I took it off at one point during that long blogging break of yours, because after a few months I thought you weren't coming back to us :(
@Agent Sanders
yes, but I just hope that at least one of those upcoming superhero shows will be good, because I haven't seen a good super hero show since John Wesley Sheep's FLASH from the 90's.
@Vics
yep, it's a very creative poster! :)
I'm a huge Sean Bean fan, but I wasn't a fan at all of Black Death. I did a review, here:

Thanks for your comments on ReTorte! Nice to meet another Within Temptation fan and a Loreena McKennitt fan, too. Really looking forward to WT's new album, and Loreena's latest is amazing.
Well, to be honest, I'm not expecting much from BLACK DEATH :)
ReplyDeleteBe welcome, hope you're follow HOLLYWOOD SPY too ;)
I loved WITHIN TEMPTATION while the old singer Sharon was with them, after that I've lost track.
Sharon is still with WT! She hasn't left! The new album is coming out in the spring.
ReplyDeletereally? Didn't know that! I loved their cover of RUNNING UP THAT HILL by KAte Bush best, and I also loved Sharon's song which she did with one of the famous European DJ's IN AND OUT OF LOVE!
