THE ARABIAN NIGHTS
SEVEN MOVIES FANTASY FRANCHISE AT WARNER BROS!
Deadline reports today that Warner Bros. has bought the script for a possible seven movie fantasy adventure franchise ARABIAN NIGHTS! Also known as One Thousand and One Stories, it is a well known collection of vivid folk tales from Ancient Arabia, Persian, Egypt. The frame of all other stories is based on Persian king who discovers that both his wife and his brother's wife have been unfaithful and has them executed. For several years, he starts marrying young virgins, executing them the next morning before they can betray him. When the king's "vizier," whose duty it is to find these virgins, cannot find them any more, the vizier's daughter offers herself as the next bride, but before he can execute her, she tells him a story which she does not conclude. The king postpones the execution so he can hear the end, but every time she ends a story, she starts a new one. This forces the king to keep postponing the execution for one thousand and one nights as she keeps telling new tales. Sinbad, Aladdin and Ali Baba are all characters from the stories of beautiful Scheherazade.

THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES
FIRST LOOK AT KING THRANDUIL!
Partners looks like it will be a fun series with two interesting actors.
ReplyDeletecould be, should be fun :)
DeleteHail to the Hobbits... looking forward to the blu-ray. since I have not seen the other two in the theater as I am boycotting them... I didn't know Paul Rudd was going to be in Antman... thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean you didn't know? I've written about it only about hundred times....
Deletewait... what, where are we going?
Deleteinto the battle, where's your helmet, dwarf? :)
DeleteI remember The Arabian Nights from when I was a kid and I haven't thought of it in an age. It appears as if the focus is to be on sex and murder in this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much done in on Super Hero films now. I have to wonder how much make up it will take for Michael Douglas not to look like he's already dead :)
Not really, dahlink. Arabian Nights are stories of adventure and wisdom and sometimes of fatal fate, but mostly with a message. They will probably make it exotic and lavish.
DeleteI always feel such pity for our dearest Catherine Zeta Jones, dahlink.
I have no idea how such a pretty woman can tap that.
DeleteMy blog had it's third birthday last month. Out of all the people that I began that blog with, you is the only one who has never taken me for granted. Some folks are about to be in for a rather rude awakening :)
I can only imagine that he is/was good in bed, because if I remember correctly he was a sexual addict before. And he is powerful in Hollywood. But none of those two things are a quality :)
DeleteMine was five in April. You know how much me lurvs you, dear, to bits and then some more :)
That Persian king sounds like a pig! I'd have him executed!
ReplyDeletethe chap had a sad life, what can I tell you. Dougray Scott marvellously portrayed him in Hallmark mini series.
DeleteDidn't take long to run out of virgins. Good thing that last one knew how to tell a story.
ReplyDeleteAnd I never tire of seeing King Thranduil. :)
she married him in the end if me remembers correctly :)
DeleteWe do bow to our one and only King Thranduil! Death to the Orcs long live Elves!
ANT-MAN i'm enjoy to see this movie !
ReplyDeleteCheers .
hope it won't disappoint you!
DeleteOoo, Partners look like a fun time. I don't recall seeing either of those actors lately. It will be good to see them again.
ReplyDeleteKelsey stars in X MEN movies, as weird as it sounds...
DeleteOh yeah! That's right. He'scan be hard to recognize in that. :)
DeleteI can imagine... not that I've seen those movies :)
DeleteLee Pace is having a good year with the last Hobbit movie, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
ReplyDeleteand his TV show HALT AND CATCH FIRE is also on the small screens
DeleteMy, my, my, Lee Pace is easy on the eyes, isn't he?
ReplyDeletepainfully easy :)
DeleteNot much here for me today.
ReplyDeleteOur darling Dezzie is here :0)
DeleteAnnzie always has the right answer, she is my Public Relations Manager :)
DeleteScheherazade had a terrible husband, that's for sure
ReplyDeletebut a rich one... though :)
DeleteI happen to love the Arabian Nights stories, so this is great news. I hope the Kelsey Grammar comedy is as funny as Frasier.
ReplyDeleteI grew up with Arabian Nights stories always loved their exotic element
DeletePartners looks funny.
ReplyDeleteThat Michael Douglas is on a roll isn't he?
he's using what little is left of his time ....
DeleteI too am gifted with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale. Just so you know. That third Hobbit flick should be thrown in the fires of Mount Doom. There... I said it, my precious.
ReplyDeleteall men have that ability in certain parts of their body... From zero to supersized hero :)
DeleteThe Vizier's daughter sounds like one smart cookie. And her husband sounds like a real ass. I bet he would have gotten along with Henry VIII splendidly.
ReplyDeleteMedieval and ancient times, what can I say...
