MODERN DAY "ZORRO" TV SERIES! "SMURFS 2" TRAILER WITH NEIL PATRICK HARRIS, CHRISTINA RICCIE, KATY PERRY! TRIP TO HELL IN "HELLFIELD" ACTION FILM! "DAUGHTER OF SMOKE & BONE" MOVIE ADAPTATION

It seems we are getting yet another ZORRO project. "Variety" writes about USA Network preparing modern update of the legend titled simply Z. The show would be set in contemporary Los Angeles and would follow
Diego Moreno as he rises from humble origins as an orphaned teen to become an infamous masked hero. HOLLYWOOD SPY has reported before that a sf movie ZORRO REBORN is also in works with Gael Garcia Bernal. In the updated movie version, the Mexican hero will be set into a post apocalyptic era where the masked vigilante will seek revenge in a futuristic wasteland. The funny thing is that Sony is also planning to adapt Isabella Allende's novel which reveals the history behind the legendary masked man, from being born as a son of an aristocratic Spanish military man turned landowner and a Shoshone female warrior, and growing up as a witness of the brutal injustices dealt to Native Americans by European settlers, to being a student in Napoleonic Spain, and fighting pirates at the sea.

HOLLYWOOD SPY HEADLINES
You know that you can always count on Hollywood to come up with an original idea, yes? Or maybe not? What do you think about this one: "The Hollywood Reporter" says that Paramount is preparing super
natural action flick HELLFIELD. The crazy plot of the action film will follow a group of criminals, who take a trip to Hell to stop an apocalyptic event from destroying the universe. I wonder which politician gave them the directions? Meanwhile, Universal has hired ALICE IN WONDERLAND's producer Joe Roth to produce film adaptation of DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE bestseller from Laini Taylor which tells the tale of a 17-year-old art student whose father occasionally sends her on errands around the world, collecting human teeth for a mysterious purpose. The young woman gradually becomes aware that she is part of ancient struggle between devils and angels and finds herself in a forbidden romance with a warrior angel.Oh, puhlease!

SMURFS 2 TRAILER
And I know that you will be smurfiliciously happy when you hear that your clip for today is the first trailer for charming adventure SMURFS 2 which should
continue where the smash hit from 2011 stopped next July. The evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties (Christina Riccie) that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants - and only a secret spell that Smurfette (Katy Perry) knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs - Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world's greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite
with their human friends Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris) and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus - or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?
DEZZY'S CHRISTMAS MAGIC

  1. Don't knock Smoke and Bone until you've read it. It was one of the best books I've read in the last 2 years and I am eager to devour the sequel. It is also beautifully written and far more than your average angel vs demon story. The author was a National Book Award finalist for Lips Touch: Three Times. Not so sure if Smoke & Bone will adapt well to a movie though.

    1. I do not base my opinion on this on the quality of writing but on the genre which feeds young people with such horrid things - demons and dark angels being sexy and attractive, kids and teens fighting and being warriors.... deeply irresponsible.

  2. I can usually handle another Zorro adaptation. It's like Robin Hood, it just keeps being reinvented. :)

    2. Which politician gave them directions? I could come up with a fairly substantial list for that one. I'm quite certain that Chancellor Merkel has a flat there and that she visits with Margaret Thatcher where they drink tea and eat the souls of children on a Sunday afternoon.

Of course you will have my comment over at Mel's place darling. Been looking forward to it :)

    3. indeed and Tony Blair is Devil's pet boy. While Madlen Albright and Hilary Clinton are his nannies, which is why devil is the devil after being raised by such evil.

Hope I won't disappoint with CHRISTMAS MAGIC, Anne, I did use couple of old recipes, since, due to reasons you only know, I haven't baked at all for months.

    4. Hilary was in Ireland recently. The land died where her feet touched the ground.

You won't disappoint darling, it will be splendid. I know why you can't bake now and I hope that can be changed for the better before too much longer.

    5. horrid, hope your Christian priests sprinkled the roads she travelled with holy water to cleanse them out. She was here in Belgrade earlier this year too and the whole city was closed as if someone important was coming. Imagine coming on a state visit to a country you personally bombed and destroyed. She will burn in hell even though I don't believe in heaven and hell.

I just love how you decorate, in your home, your cakes, on your blog. It's a gift. I don't have that talent with a fine eye for detail like that. That shows you have a lot of patience.
