IRONCLAD TIDBITS
Megan Fox and William Moseley were also supposed to star in the film, but they are not in the cast. The film is rated R for strong graphic brutal battle sequences and brief nudity. The budget of the film was modest for an epic, just $25 million! Famous Richard Attenborough had to leave the cast due to health problems. According to IMDB, Paul Giamatti has filmed his role in just seven days!THE STORY OF THE FILM
The film is set in 1215 when the rebel barons of England have forced their despised King John to put his royal seal to the Magna Carta, a noble, seminal document that upheld the rights of free-men. Yet within months of pledging himself to the great charter, the King reneged on his word and assembled a mercenary army on the south coast of England with the intention of bringing the barons and the country back under his tyrannical rule. Barring his way stood the mighty Rochester castle, a place that would become the symbol of the rebel's momentous struggle for justice and freedom. The movie will have an absolutely amazing cast: James Purefoy as the brave Marshall joined by best acting legends Britain can offer Derek Jacoby, Brian Cox, Guy Siner (remember famous Gruber from classic British sitcom ALO, ALO),then there's also the amazing Jason Flemyng, and two lovely ladies Kate Mara and Bree Condon, and off course Paul Giamatti as the evil King John.
looks freaking awesome
ReplyDeleteit does, doesn't it :)
ReplyDeletegreat cast; looking forward to giamatti's accent. i can't believe they went with that title though. it's stupid.
ReplyDeleteI must admit the title sounds rather nice and attractive to me :) The cast really is interesting and unusual. We are used to seeing Purefoy in epics, but not Giamatti so it will be interesting to hear his accent as you said.
ReplyDeleteOh, you know I eat this stuff up. Can't wait. I love Paul Giamatti. He brings such a quirky edge to all his roles. Looks good. :)
ReplyDeleteIRONCLAD certainly looks great :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Love these kinds of movies. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing Paul Giamatti in what seems like an unusual role for him.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this movie, I like who the cast will be, Ill have to look into it.

ReplyDeleteYay Novak Djokovic!! Too cool that he is Wimbledon champ and Number 1 in the world. Whoo Hoo!!!!
This looks like a buddy cop move in the medieval ages.
ReplyDeleteI like your spotlight features. Very informative and interesting!
ReplyDeleteVery much looking forward to seeing this. It'ss be weird seeing Guy Siner in something serious though. Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteIronclad looks like its gonna be fun. I can see Paul Giamatti providing satiric commentary. :D
ReplyDeleteIronclad is a strange name though don't you think? IRONCLAD!! hehe maybe thats just me!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Dezzy, how are we?
DAMN, this is my kind of movie, i love it, even tho i saw a superhero named ironclad on a game so it makes it kinda weird, but im so watching this movie
ReplyDeleteMethinks I'll enjoy this one. I also wonder if Purefoy will ever get offered anything other than roles where he has to wear chainmail/ wield a sword. (Although he does it so well)
ReplyDeleteAnd BIG congrats to Novak! What a moment.
I don't know if I can sit through another epic medieval film.

And thanks, the whole country is rejoicing in Novak's victory! Being a world champion when you come from a small 8 million people country is a huge huge success.

Yeah...I'd watch this. Not sure Paul Giamatti in this role, but he hasn't disappointed before. He just looks misplaced in the poster.
ReplyDeletehe does look misplaced, I usually take him for a New York type of guy not medieval England type of guy.
