ROMANTIC MONDAY: "JANE EYRE" WITH MICHAEL FASSBENDER, JUDI DENCH AND JAMIE BELL. "ONE DAY" WITH ANNE HATHAWAY AND JIM STURGESS

Here are two romantic films which are coming to cinemas next year for all of you who like a bit of love magic in your movies.
First there's the new adaptation of JANE EYRE by Charlotte Bronte. With the star studded cast including Michael FassbenderJudi Dench, Imogen Poots, Jamie Bell, Mia Wasikovska ... the film follows Jane Eyre who flees Thornfield
House, where she works as a governess for wealthy Edward Rochester. As she reflects upon the people and emotions that have defined her, it is clear that the isolated and imposing residence, and Mr. Rochester's coldness, have sorely tested the young woman's resilience, forged years earlier when she was orphaned. She must now act decisively to secure her own future and come to terms with the past that haunts her - and the terrible secret that Mr. Rochester is hiding and that she has uncovered... If you ask me, since Wasikovska lacks charisma, I think Imogen Poots would've been much much better as Jane. I will watch the film for Fassbender and my dear Judi Dench.

The second film is ONE DAY with inescapable Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess which has a very interesting plot: the film charts an extraordinary relationship. Emma and Dexter meet on the night of their college graduation - July 15th, 1988. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making
the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. For the next two decades, every July 15th reveals to us how "Em" and "Dex" are faring, as their friendship ebbs and flows with the passing of the years. Through love and loss, heartbreak and success, hopes fulfilled and dreams shattered, they experience the grandeur of life. Somewhere along their journey, these two people realize that what they are searching and hoping for has been there for them all along.

  2. This is way too much romance for one post. What's up, Dez?
    Judi Dench- you bet. Jane Eyre - not so much.
    One Day - I'm thinking....No!
    Sorry.

  4. Can't go wrong w/ Jane Eyre. But you used the perfect word to describe Anne Hathaway -- inescapable.

  5. Hello Dezzzy!! Miss you buddy, hope you had a lovely holiday.

    Well you know I'm excited for Jane Eyre, as I love the story and excited to see how Fassbender fares as Rochester. One Day sounds ok, not too interested in anything Hathaway is churning out but might check it out on dvd on account of Jim Sturgess who I think is very talented.

  6. Oh Dez, I forgot to mention that I voted on your poll. Of course you know who I voted for but y'know what, I'm ok if RA got picked. He is English after all and I LOOOOVE his deep, raspy voice. Plus, I'd rather have Gerry Berry do other more interesting roles (especially Robert Burns!)

  7. Dezz, if you mention Anne Hathaway one more TIME!!!

    Hahaha. I know it's not your fault, but seriously.... she's flooding the market!

    I do have my moments

    @Mary
    it means that there's a three day hiatus in the film news department, Mary, and Dezzy has to rely on some desperate measures :)

    @Masy
    I haven't read JANE EYRE but I did read and loved WUTHERING HEIGHTS by another Bronte sister. Although I thought it would be a cliche romance, it was actually one of the most serious books I've read during my English literature studies.

    ah, and I was wondering whether the word can be used in that way :) Thanks!

    @Flixy
    missed you too!
    I'm guessing you voted for Farrell :P You know I agree with you that Butler should get a better role than the 007 one which can ruin the diversity of an actor's career.

    @Kristin
    it's not my fault Kristin, there just ain't any news in the film world during the holidays :( And yes, there is too much of Anne, of Franco and of DeCaprio lately.

  21. Romantic Monday? I like the sound of that! Have I missed some other Mondays, or is this the first?
    RA seems to have little competition this time. Does this mean others agree or have they just given up trying to vote against him? LOL I think Clive Owen might be a reasonable alternative.

  22. no, this is just a single unique Romantic Monday :) I do post news on romantic movies whenever there are some, but there are never enough to make it a regular thing at HOLLYWOOD SPY.

    And, yes, others have given up, although I do love how my dear Rupert Penry Jones has some strong support as well :)
