CILLIAN MURPHY JOINS AMANDA SEYFRIED AND JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IN "I'M.MORTAL". LUCY LAWLESS WILL LIVE AGAIN IN "SPARTACUS" SECOND SEASON!

OK guys, Andrew Niccol's ("Gattaca") sf film "I'm.mortal" is officially getting better and better. Last month I told you how the lead actress, angelic Amanda Seyfried will be joined by Justin Timberlake as the lead actor. But now they have another amazing addition to this already perfect cast: ultratalented Cillian Murphy will also join them. This sf film is set in a society where time is the new currency and the rich are essentially immortal and the rest of society has to struggle to survive. Justin Timberlake will go on the run after coming into a fortune of "time" while Amanda Seyfried will be a rich heiress he takes for hostage. Cillian Murphy will play a member of a law enforcement organization known as the Timekeepers, who is as precise as the time he keeps and who will try to catch Justin.

And good news for the fans of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand". Even though the show was ended in the most shocking season finale ever seen with almost all of the main characters killed for their sins and evil plots, it seems that Starz will bring one of them back to life. Although Lucy Lawless' character Lucretia was killed by her gladiator lover, due to popular demand the writers will resurrect her in the second season as well, so she wasn't dead she was just twitching and we won't be seeing her just in the six episodes of the prequel "Gods of Arena" but also in "Blood and Sand" season two. Both will be aired next year.

  1. Murphy in supporting with Timberlake in lead?
    Murphy should be the one rumored as the lead actor.

  2. No, no, Jaccsy, Cillian has that hidden naughtiness in him perfect for the role of guy who is chasing our hero, while Justin has more than enough charm to play the lead role :))

  3. The concept of I'm.mortal sounds pretty cool, but I don't know that it's all that futuristic. The old adage of "time is money" has been around for a long time and the class struggle between the haves and have nots has been with us since ancient times. There should be a lot of opportunities for relevant commentary on parallels between this future vision and the way things are now.

  5. Can't say that I care much for JT's acting but otherwise that sounds decent. Spartacus was a little over the top with blood and sex and so forth but then I suppose that was the point. I still watched it so I guess they accomplished their goal, didn't they?

  6. "I'm.mortal" is shaping up to be a real blockbuster! I thought Gattaca was very cool so the pressure is on to blow that film away. And with such a talented cast (including the gorgeous Amanda) I have no doubt it will. Fascinating premise, too. I'm psyched!

    yes, I agree that some systems keep repeating on and on, and circling through history, and are never really truly erased but just appear in different shapes (today you can buy time if you have money for surgeries and medical treatments, and if you don't the money you just die). But this movie is described as futuristic due to its settings, the story will go on in some future period.

    GATTACA was great!

    yes, they wanted to portray the brutality of the era in a realistic way.

    @Tom

  9. Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried and Cillian Murphy... I'm almost as excited as I was years ago for Matt Damon, Jude Law & Kate Blanchet in "Talented Mr. Ripley."

  10. I was also excited about Jude and Blanchett together in a film, but Damon and Gwyneth have ruined the whole experience for me personally :)

  12. Glad to see Murphy pick up more Hollywood roles as of late. He was starting to go under the radar until Inception came out.

  13. @Shells
    great looking people and great looking script

    @Castor
    I must admit I don't like him appearing in INCEPTION and DARK KNIGHT, I loved his career as an ultratalented drama actor who shined in A BREAKFAST ON PLUTO, THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY, GIRL WITH A PEARL EARING, ...

  14. I'm with Jaccstev, the role should be reversed. Alas, JT is the one with the star power, never understood what the fuss is about that guy. Oh well, more Cillian in Hollywood is always a good thing.

  15. I really like Murphy and am glad that he is getting back into some bigger flicks. He's a great talent. Now Timberlake...uh no. I am simply not a fan.

  16. Cillian really is an extraordinary actor.
    What I personally like about Justin, is that he is very dedicated and committed to everything he does. He doesn't have a superficial mediocre approach to business. His music is always perfectly produced, his videos are always top notch, and even when he takes movie roles he never takes a bite which would be to big for him because he knows he is still learning. We don't see that in other young celebrities often.

  17. I just want to see Cillian as a lead in a romantic comedy. Just once.
