TOM HARDY REVEALS EXCLUSIVE UPDATES ON "MAD MAX: FURY ROAD"

Here's a story for my boys and pics for my girls :)One of our favourite British lads, ultratalented Tom Hardy has just given an interview to "FirstShowing" revealing some interesting things about the upcoming reboot of the popular sf adventure "Mad Max" in which he will play the lead role. According to Hardy new "Mad Max" will revisit the updated world from the second movie and his character will have the same amount of grit, rawness and authenticity. Experts who worked on "Lord of the Rings" will do CGI in "Mad Max" as well, but as Hardy says they will do the action the Chris Nolan way with real big rigs, big explosions, big car crashes, big fight scenes. The shooting will probably last for a whole year and Tom Hardy must drop 30 pounds and start with stunt and fight training, in order to achieve the new look for Mad Max which he explained very vividly: Imagine a hungry wolf. Or like when you put a cat in the bath. You grab a cat by the throat and stuff it under the fucking water. You know what it looks like? That's what I'm going to look like. But like a puma. Very hungry and very dangerous. It's imperative. This is the kind of guy who's not well. So I have to create that reality.
With the budget of $100 million "Mad Max: Fury Road" is supposed to start filming later this year down in Australia.

  1. No old film is safe. Of course, I think Gibson is too old for the role now.
And hope that's the most we will ever see of Hardy!

  2. ahahaa :)) well, Alex just point your eyes a bit more right and you will find the cure for your eyes :)
I think Hardy will do justice to this role, he is really an amazing young talent and has a very strong charisma which will help him do something impressive with MAD MAX.

  3. agreed - he is an excellent actor. He was on a chat show the other week on UK TV. Very intense young man. The impression he gave was of someone who was only comfortable when he was pretending to be someone else.

  4. Do we really need to take Mad Max to the next level? The first trilogy worked fine for me. Hope this is not just another rehash that is merely louder, with more advanced special effects and 3D but short on story.

  5. @Michael
now that sounds very intriguing - someone who is only comfortable when he is pretending to be someone else!

    @Arlee
I'm just hoping there will be some female character similar to Tina Turner's :)

  6. my favorite line from the mad max movies is delivered in a way only mel gibson can deliver it: you want to drive this tanker truck out of here, you talk to me.

that movie included the greatest (and worst) antagonist name of all time: lord humongous.

  7. I loved that part with the tanker truck :) and I also remember Lord Humongous, the freak with that horrible metal mask on his face :)

  11. Wow, I really hope Mel Gibson, makes a cameo appearance. Charlton Heston did this, in the
latest Ape movie. I agree, nothing old is safe; we now, need to CGI everything in the past 25yrs.
Let's just grave dig the movie archives and resurrect them, breath in some new life.

I am excited about some things being redone, but please let's still be open to new up and coming talent!

  12. I hear you Ellie, I'm also for fresh new ideas instead of the old ones, but it seems that Tinseltown doesn't agree with us.
