Here's another magical treat for you: the first trailer for this winter's fantasy adventure "The Chronicles of Narnia: the Voyage of the Dawn Treader". In the third part of the saga, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie, along with their pesky cousin Eustace Scrubb, find themselves swallowed into a painting and on to a fantastic Narnian ship headed for the very edges of the world. Joining forces once again with their royal friend Prince Caspian and the warrior mouse Reepicheep, they are whisked away on a mysterious mission to the Lone Islands, and beyond. On this bewitching voyage that will test their hearts and spirits, the trio will face magical Dufflepuds, sinister slave traders, roaring dragons and enchanted merfolk. Only an entirely uncharted journey to Aslan's Country, a voyage of destiny and transformation for each of those aboard the Dawn Treader, can save Narnia, and all the astonishing creatures in it, from an unfathomable fate.
Hmmmmmm, a safe trailer, lots of shiney images, no plot insights (granted the book does that), and keeps things a bit mysterious. About what one would expect from a first trailer. I'm just not sure this one looks exciting enough.
ReplyDeleteBy the way how many of these trailers can end with a lion roaring?
I agree, it doesn't really reveal much, I guess they are saving better parts for the second trailer. If you ask me, Aslan can roar underneath my window as much as he likes :)
ReplyDeleteI don't need the lion, can you attain the ship for me?
ReplyDeletejust give us the lion and we shall give you the ship, but if you involve the police we shall destroy the ship before you get it :)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't give much away, but anyone who's read the books knows what it's all about. This one better rock!
ReplyDeleteat least we have the good old Aslan :)
ReplyDeleteAs long as it vaguely resembles the book I shall be happy. They'd better not take too many liberties with the characters though, I mean - what WAS with Susan & Prince Caspian at the end of the last one?? Gadzooks, it's just not cricket!
ReplyDeleteAs long as they don't mess with the storyline too much I'll be happy. I mean, what WAS it with Susan and Prince Caspian in the last movie?? Gadzooks - It's just not cricket!! [roars like Aslan in a temper]
ReplyDeleteSorry about the double post above people! I was watching Mexico score against France and was too busy blowing my vuvuzela to concentrate properly on what I was doing!!
ReplyDeletewhat??? You're using vuvuzelas??? I believe that's one of the new deadly sins :)
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful images and nothing much else. Well, it's a teaser after all, what do we want? :) There's plenty of time till its release, so they'll probably reveal the story step by step in the upcoming trailers next months.
ReplyDeleteIf you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

ReplyDeleteyes, it's just a teaser, after all you and me know how it goes being the experts in teasing :))
@Akindamagic
something like that :)
I was on vacation when I got the text that this was out, I am delighted to see this on something other then my cell phone.
ReplyDeleteI do not know what it is, doesn’t look very Narnia to me. Skandar and Georgie have seriously grown. Ben is sexy as ever! I am trying to get used to his beard (he has the same one in Locked In). I think he resembles Will Turner more then Andrew’s Prince Caspian. Love Aslan, he is one of my favorite characters. I like how he roars, I am glad Fox did not change this.
I like the changes Andrew made to Prince Caspian. I like surprises and sometimes prefer the writers to change things around from the book. I know this new director added some new characters, I suppose we will have to wait and see if he is as creative as Andrew.
oh, I figured this one would make you come back to Net, Avalon :PP
ReplyDeleteI've no idea about half of these characters you are talking about :))
Lol, I was on vacation and have a list of blogs to catch up on and as I can see I am way behind on yours.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I was using the actor's names.
I was afraid you had health problems and was thus away from the computer. Nice to hear it was just a vacation, hope you had nice time away with the kids and family :)
