It seems that the lovely and very intriguing Kirsten Dunst sf romance "Upside Down", which HOLLYWOOD SPY wrote about last autumn, is progressing really nice. Check out the first posters. As you know, the story of "Upside Down" takes place in two worlds that are literally on top each other, each city with their own gravity system. Sadly, the citizens of each town can not visit the other, for unknown reasons. Jim Sturgess plays the main character Adam, who falls in love with a girl from the upside down world Eve, played by Kirsten Dunst. And like any good lovelorn hero, he's not going to let a little thing like gravity get in the way of his heart's desire.
The big plus in this movie is its production designer Alex McDowell ("Watchmen", "The Crow", "Fight Club","The Minority Report").
This could be interesting. I'm waiting for the trailer.
ReplyDeletewe are waiting for the trailer as well :)
ReplyDeleteI would like to know the physics behind this idea of two town on top of each other. :-)
ReplyDeletelove defies all laws and gravitation :)
ReplyDeleteIn other words, it should be visually stunning.
ReplyDeleteInteresting concept.
Looking excellent. Production design, like cinematography (Tak Fujimoto is the best ever!) and set design is often VERY overlooked.
ReplyDeleteMan, the "Adam" and "Eve" things are done to death. Where's all the creativity?
ReplyDeleteHmmm very confused about how exactly they'd fall in love... I mean... certainly they can't see each other over all those sky scrapers.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see how they "get" to each other...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE original concepts like this! Sounds amazing. I love when filmmakers think outside the box.
ReplyDelete@Alex and Matt
ReplyDeleteyep, I expect a visually stunning design. In sf movies that's always very important.
@Dawn
where is your sense for romance, woman? :)))
@Kristin and Avalon
Love lifts us up where we belong :))
@Angie
me to, this is what dreams are made of :))
It looks promising, but I'm not particularly excited about Kirsten Dunst. She's a mediocre actress, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteyep, Kirsten isn't an overly-talented actress, I still haven't recovered from the stunningly horrible performance she gave in MARIE ANTOINETTE.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very interesting. Looking forward to it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the lower picture. Reminds me of some 1950s sci fi book cover!
ReplyDelete@Okie
ReplyDeleteglad you like it, Okie :) We love creative stories.
@Nadir
yep, both posters are really amazing to look at.
