BEHIND THE SCENES CLIP FROM THE GROUNDBREAKING AND MAGICAL FILM "LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS"
Now, here's a real treat - a trailer and behind the scenes clip of my personal most anticipated movie this year "Legend of the Guardians", from Zack Snyder the director of "300" and "Watchmen". Coming out September 24th, with voices of Helen Mirren, Hugo Weaving, Geoffrey Rush and Sam Neill, this groundbreaking and heartwarming magical movie follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father's epic stories of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones.While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father's favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd's jealousy has terrible consequences causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole, Soren's only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

This looks more promising by the day! Not sure if I will seek it in theater (I don't watch animations in theater usually) but this is definitely making me consider it.
ReplyDeletePS: Love how Duhamel, Dempsey, Diggs, Fillion have like 3 votes and Armitage has 640!

ReplyDeleteThe animation is incredible! Not too sure about the whole owl story, but can't miss this in the theater in splendid 3D on the big screen.
ReplyDeleteThis movie looks good! I hope that means somebody will finally read the books that have not been moving off the library shelves. I love it when somebody makes a movie from the book because sooner or later somebody always tells me how much better the book was -- even if they liked the movie!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great underrated series. It looks like it will make a fantastic movie!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding animation! I was so captivated, that I wish I could fly right next to these cute little owls :)
ReplyDelete@Castor
ReplyDeleteArmitage's fans are very devoted.
@Samuel
it really is groundbreaking, like a LOTR of animated movies.
@Alex
I know you like a good 3D :)
@Phylly
yep, I know about the book, my publishing house is actually releasing the book for the readers in SERBIA this winter.
@Palindrome
it will be totally fantastic
@Neb
Oh, that was my first thought as well :)
Like seeing Zack Snyder make a departure from his "grisly, gritty, grainy" look from his Hard-R films. The film shall speak how he's also a talented one for animation genre.
ReplyDeleteyes, I think he can be very versatile, and that's his big gift!
ReplyDeleteOh how could I not notice Richard on your sidebar until Castor mentioned it?? That's just crazy! Of course he gets my vote, it's just no contest. Man, I'm dying to see him get a Hollywood role, he's absolutely swoon-worthy in BBC's North & South, all my girlfriends LOVE Mr. Thornton :)
ReplyDeleteNow, for the topic at hand, ehm... I LOVE the trailer when I first saw this. I never thought I'd be interested in anything about owls but the visual just looks amazing.
OMG Ruth, you know who Armitage is?????? I've been getting tones of e-mails from readers asking me who the heck he is and why is he leading in the poll :) when they've never heard of him.
ReplyDeleteSame with me - I don't like birds, but these owls are super cute! This will be a LOTR of animated movies.
Looks great! Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteHey, Chris, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY :)
ReplyDeleteSaw the trailer in 3D when I went to watch How to Train Your Dragon in 3D - the animation looked breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteHey, Cesta, glad you liked it, and welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY ;)
ReplyDeleteThis must be the most beautiful looking animated film ever. :)
ReplyDeletetruly breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteSorry a bit late in my response. They haven't heard of Richard Armitage???! What's wrong with these people? he..he.. But to be fair, he hasn't worked in a Hollywood film yet, but hopefully that'll change eventually. He's fantastic as Guy of Gisbourne in the BBC Robin Hood. Seriously, with a villain like THAT, who's going to pay attention to the hero?? :)
ReplyDeletewell, to admit the true, I didn't know who Armitage is either :) until I became friends with the owner of his fansite :) And I still don't know who he is :) I watched him in some movie in which played some famous painter, if I remember correctly, and he didn't really amaze me, but he is rather handsome. I watched just a few episodes of ROBIN HOOD, but Jonas Armstrong caught my eye much more than Richard :)
ReplyDeleteI think that villain's often get more popular than the heroes. Beside Armitage, there's also Craig Parker aka DArken Rahl from LEGEND OF THE SEEKER who was much more charismatic than Craig Horner the hero of the show.
