TRAILERS FOR "13" WITH JASON STATHAM, MICKEY ROURKE & ALEXANDER SKARSGARD, AND CREEPY "THE AWAKENING"! DC COMICS "SPECTRE" TV SHOW! ETHAN HAWKE IN NBC'S "BLUE TILT"

Today I have two trailers for you, and the first one is for a rather intriguing and strange action thriller 13 which rounds up a pretty huge cast including Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke,
Alexander Skarsgard, Ray Winstone, Michael Shannon
and even 50 Cent. Premiering October 28th,  the film follows a naive young man who assumes a dead man's identity and finds himself embroiled in an underground world of power, violence, and chance where men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of other men in some very strange game. And if you're not into action films, you might at least like Jason Statham's rather fancy and totally unusual and dashing outfits in the film :)
SHORT HOLLYWOOD HEADLINES
According to "Deadline" Fox has ordered a pilot for SPECTRE TV show, based on DC Comics hero Jim Corrigan, a former hard-nosed cop who is stuck in the afterlife. He must return to
Earth to hunt down criminals on behalf of a mysterious entity known only as "The Voice". Another two film actors to join the trend of movie stars moving to TV are Ethan Hawke and Vincent D'Onofrio who have joined new TV show BLUE TILT to be aired on NBC. They will play two seasoned homicide detectives - one married and one divorced - who are solving cases while dealing with their wives and ex-wives and kids. As "MovieWeb" reports the title BLUE TILT refers to a cop term for homicide detectives who, as a result of dealing with particularly brutal crimes, become a danger to themselves and are put under psychiatric observation.

The second trailer for today promotes spooky period thriller THE AWAKENING which should premiere sometime this year. The
atmospheric movie is set in 1921 when England is overwhelmed by the loss and grief of World War I. Rather bland British actress Rebecca Hall plays an author and professional hoax exposer from London, who is approached by a teacher (Dominic West) at a boarding school for little boys, because he believes the students are being tormented by a ghost. But when she starts exploring in order to explain sightings of a child ghost, everything she knew unravels as the 'missing' begin to show themselves. Always wonderful Imelda Staunton also appears in the film.

  3. I loved the trailer for The Awakening, and I usually don't like the scary stuff.

    Don't know about 13. That scene with the bullet roulette was really tense and brutal.

  4. Thee films both sound very exciting and the story behind the term Blue Tilt is riveting. I may have to watch. If it doesn't interfere with my other shows. LOL I think I watch too much TV.

    me doesn't likes scary stuff either :) This one is more atmospheric than scary methinks

    @Melsy
    glad you liked both films, it is such a poor week in the news department that I didn't know what to post and write about. Which shows do you follow on TV? I follow none since we don't have US channels, but I do use internet to get to my fav shows, but they all finished their seasons now. I'm currently watching a tenth rerun of FRIENDS at one of Serbian channels :) It never gets old even after tenth watching of each episode of each season :)

    I'm with you, I also don't care much for the scary movies, but I do love Statham even though I usually can't stand the genre of the films he stars in :)

    @Kelly
    ah, sister, I knew you would be the one to like that one since we do love us some Alexander Skarsgard :)

    did you just say "feck" in my house??? :PPPP
    It is a scary film, hope it didn't provoke any memories from childhood for you :)

    @Lurk
    'tis true, he is always a joy to watch even when his films are bad. KILLER ELITE should score high with the male audience.

  12. My fiance will have me watch 13. I can feel it. lol

  13. I'm not so sure Rebecca Hall thrills me as an actress but I do love a good ghost story. This looks like the perfect film for this time of year and I do like the early 20th century setting.

  14. @Kelley
    ah, as if watching some Statham would do you any wrong :P

    @Dan
    yep, I don't get her as an actress either, she has zero charisma. But as you said the film will be great to watch on a cold Fall evening with mist outside and someone warm beside you on the couch :)

  15. Interesting about SPECTRE. I wonder if it will be an origin story Spectre as opposed to the "Hal Jordan, Spirit of Redemption" Spectre which your image suggests.

    Vincent D'Onofrio has had more success on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" than many of the movies he has been in (with the exception of the original MEN IN BLACK and his small role in FULL METAL JACKET).

  17. The awakening looks thrilling. Will wait for it

  18. I don't like 50 Cent so that is a minus for me on 13, but there are some other good actors here.

    The Awakening sounds like it could have potential.

    I've never heard of Spectre before, so don't ask me :)
    And I've also never seen LAW AND ORDER so I didn't notice D'Onofrio in it, but I do agree that he really is more of a TV actor when I come to think about it :)

    @Flying
    he really is!And glad you liked the updates and trailer :)

  20. @Novia
    it seems to be everyone's favourite today :)

    @Arlee
    I don't think that anybody likes 50 Cent. He is just not a likable guy :) We shall not watch the film for him, definitely.

  21. Both 13 and Awakening look good, although i agree with Arlee on 50 cent being a minus.

    And i personally liked Rebecca in Vicky Christina Barcelona

  22. Love a chilling ghost story, though I'm not sure THE AWAKENING is it.

  23. @Dirty

  24. I follow Glee, Bones, Burn Notice, White Collar, Supernatural, Eureka, Sons of Anarchy, Merlin and Being Human (both UK and now, US-I know it's not as good, but I'm hooked for some reason) I also love to watch Two and a Half Men. I'm on reruns as I never watch the show when it airs. My guilty pleasure is MTV's Teen Wolf, which has Tyler Hoechlin from Road to Perdition. He's just adorable. ;)

    I'm also a fan of the cable series like The Borgias and Game of Thrones, but I have to wait to see them via my sister DVR as I do not get those channels. I love Friends even though I've seen every ep at least a million times thanks to syndication. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ah, yes Tyler Hoechlin really is something special. He and Rami Malek are my favourite olive skinned boys :)
    Too bad both BORGIAS and GAME OF THRONES are aired in the same time of the year, wish we could have a history show in each season. SPARTACUS is in January :) And WALKING DEAD in OcTOBER, MERLIN's fourth season should also start in October.

  26. Rami Malek is gorgeous, too. We have stupendous taste, my friend. Thanks for the heads up on Merlin, they haven't said anything here, yet.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 'tis true, my dear, we really have outrageously good taste :) Somebody should hire us to spread good taste around the world :)
    I guess MERLIN's magic is coming to USA later on, probably from January on SF, but I watch it over torrents anyway since I don't have BBC :( I'm also waiting for the start of ONCE UPON TIME over at ABC :) It could be my new fav show if done right.
