In another adaptation of a novel loved by female readers, Eva Longoria will star in and produce a series adaptation of Isabel Allende's THE HOUSE OF THE SPIRITS in which she will play Blanca Trueba, one of the passionate and courageous women who leads the family’s destiny across generations. The popular literary classic is a family saga that follows the extraordinary lives of three generations of women in the Trueba family. Set in a remote South American country, this timeless drama, with tints of Magical Realism, takes us on an epic journey of fortune, intrigue, love, and fate throughout the 20th century. The book was previously adapted into an Oscar winning film which boasted a stellar cast which included Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Jeremy Irons, Antonio Banderas, Vanessa Redgrave.

Deadline reports that over at HBO they are currently working on BLOOD SUGAR TV series which will see Betty Gilpin taking the lead. Here's the plot: when the Sharks of Shark Tank laugh the delightful Margot Schultz and her frozen food business off stage, little do they know, they’re setting in motion one of the funniest, bloodiest and wildest rises to fame and fortune this country has ever seen. Betty Gilpin is, as you have probably guessed by now, also executive producing the new series.

    1. I did try to choose photos very carefully. I even changed them at one point, at first the post was supposed to be blue, with them all wearing blue dresses, but I changed my mind.

  2. I suppose if is a limited series THe House of Spirits will be closer to the book that the dull star-studded film adaptation of the 90s.

  3. I can get behind all 3 of these today. I’d watch Eva in just about anything. She is so stinking gorgeous. Though Blood Sugar might be the one I’m looking forward to a trailer the most.

    1. I was intrigued by Blood Sugar as well as I love Dragon's Den, the UK version of Shark's Tank. They always have such fun products. I just hope it won't be too bloody and bizarre LOL Will she turn the sharks into her frozen food LOL

    1. Yes, they air horrible Indian TV series here as well, sadly, but Turkish ones are still more popular, methinks and they have taken over totally from the Latino ones.

  5. House of Spirits for the win today! Sounds juicy without being too over the top. I'm on the hunt for a juicy, light hearted book these days since I'm currently stuck in the middle of a dreadful one. Maybe I'll give them a read too.
