KIERAN BEW IS 'BEOWULF'
WILLIAM HURT, ED SPELEERS ALSO JOIN NEW EPIC TV SERIES
Earlier this winter I announced that British ITV will produce BEOWULF epic TV series and now the cast has been revealed! 
Stunning Kieran Bew from DA VINCI'S DEMONS will take the title role in the 13 part series, while the rest of the star studded cast will include William Hurt, Downton Abbey's and Eragon's Ed Speleers and Wolf Hall's Joanne Whalley! Also starring are Ian Puleston Davies (Coronation Street), David Ajala (Black Mirror), Ellora Torchia (Indian Summers) and Alex Price (Penny Dreadful).
The story will be set in the mythical Shieldlands, a place of spectacle and danger populated by both humans and fantastical creatures.

Rix (THE MUSKETEERS) playing David, the second king of Israel. Simone
Kessell from TERRA NOVA will play Anohim, the queen of
Israel, the advisor to the throne
as the wife of first king of Israel, Saul who will be played by Ray
Winstone, while Maisie Richardson Sellers will be their youngest
daughter princess Michal!

Admittedly the first one was a rather boring affair, but at least it had great characters! HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 trailer is here! Dracula's (Adam Sandle) rigid monster only hotel policy has finally
relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half human, half vampire
grandson, Dennis, isn't showing signs of being a vampire. So while Mavis (Selena Gomez) is busy visiting her human in-laws with Johnny - and in for a major cultural shock of her own - "Vampa" Drac
enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a "monster-in-training" boot camp. Mel Brooks joins the cast as Drac's father Vlad!

DeleteIt will be interesting to see how Beowulf does with modern audiences. I watched a version with Gerard Butler awhile ago that wasn't half bad.

yes, Gerard's was OK, unlike that atrocity with the horrid Angelina....
DeleteI fell asleep five times during TRANSYLVANIA, it just didn't have dynamics, but the characters were delightful
I wonder if "Of Kings and Prophets" will give an honest depiction of the relationship of Jonathan and David. I doubt it.

DeleteI actually liked the first Hotel Transylvania, but agree, the storyline could have been a wee bit better. We will definitely be catching the second one!

I remember watching the animated film of Beowulf with Angelina on it on 3D screen and the gory scenes scared me. I wonder how it'll be like with a TV adaptation. I'm sure it would be epic.
