I've already told you before that after the success of The White Princess, which was probably one of the best epic series last year, Starz is making THE SPANISH PRINCESS sequel series also based on Philippa Gregory's books, and now they've announced the cast too led by Charlotte Hope and our dear Elliot Cowan!

Arriving to us as one of the first of the new historical series this Spring, ABC's midseason epic series OF KINGS AND PROPHETS is ready to bring swords and sandals to the small screens March 8th beginning its Tuesday evening airing.
It will be an epic biblical saga of faith, ambition and betrayal as
told through the eyes of the battle weary King Saul, the resentful
prophet Samuel and the resourceful young shepherd David -- all on a
collision course with destiny that will change the world. Although based
on an Old Testament story the producers promise a sex drenched series
filled with explicitly racy scenes, describing one of the world’s first
soap operas.
RAY WINSTONE LEADS THE CAST
The king from the story will be played by Ray Winstone, as the
paranoid and violent Saul, First King of Israel. We meet him as he struggles to unify the 12 Israelite tribes and defend his fledgling nation against savage enemy attacks.
Ahinoam will be played by Simone
Kessell from TERRA NOVA. She is the queen of Israel, the advisor to the throne
as the wife of Saul!
Shepherd David is played by Oliver Rix from THE MUSKETEERS! He is the future King David, the second king of Israel!
Ish-Boseth, the youngest warrior son of the first king and queen of
Israel Saul and Ahinoam will be potrayed by James Floyd.
Jonathan, the elder son of King Saul is played by Haaz Sleiman!
Merav, the eldest daughter of King Saul and Queen Ahinoamand sister of Michal, is playedby Jeanine Mason.
Their youngest
daughter Michal is Maisie Richardson Sellers!
Belgian actor Louis Talpe will play Eliab, King David’s proud
and single minded older brother.
The cagey, shrewd and lethal King Achish, the King of Philistia who has been warring with King Saul for years is played by Nathaniel Parker!
Christina Chong plays Rizpah in the series! Yoab is played by David Walmsley! Lyne Renee is the Witch of Endor!
The series itself underwent many changes and reshoots and recastings and was moved to midseason instead of original Sunday night slot.
Not much to report today, so we're turning over to the TV world with the new photos of JudeLaw as the pontiff in THE YOUNG POPE TV series that is under production. The new headshots show he looks brilliant with grey hair and in papal robes! In the Oscar winner Paolo Sorrentino directed drama he will play the fictional role of the first American Pope in contemporary times who is ultra conservative and thus has problems in Vatican. Diane Keaton is a nun who raised him and helped him become the pope. HBO, Sky and Canal + will air the series later this year.

And ABC has finally released an extended trailer for the midseason epic TV series OF KINGS AND PROPHETS and I'm afraid it looks kinda cheap and lacking in visual image. To start airing March 8th, it will be set 1,000 years before Christ, following the first king of the Israelites, Saul (Ray Winstone), who struggles to unify the 12 Israelite tribes and defend his fledgling nation against savage enemy attacks. The prophet Samuel relays a message from God to King Saul that he must destroy one of Israel’s ancient enemies. But when Saul defies that message, Samuel prophesies that the Lord will tear the kingdom of Israel from him and choose another in his place. In time, Saul comes to realize that his greatest threat will not come from his enemies but from the shepherd, David (Oliver Rix).
WILLIAM HURT, ED SPELEERS ALSO JOIN NEW EPIC TV SERIES
Earlier this winter I announced that British ITV will produce BEOWULF epic TV series and now the cast has been revealed! Stunning Kieran Bew from DA VINCI'S DEMONS will take the title role in the 13 part series, while the rest of the star studded cast will include William Hurt, Downton Abbey's and Eragon's Ed Speleers and Wolf Hall's Joanne Whalley! Also starring are Ian Puleston Davies (Coronation Street), David Ajala (Black Mirror), Ellora Torchia (Indian Summers) and Alex Price (Penny Dreadful).
The story will be set in the mythical Shieldlands, a place of spectacle and danger populated by both humans and fantastical creatures.

DRAC'S PACK IS BACK!
Admittedly the first one was a rather boring affair, but at least it had great characters! HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 2 trailer is here! Dracula's (Adam Sandle) rigid monster only hotel policy has finallyrelaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half human, half vampire grandson, Dennis, isn't showing signs of being a vampire. So while Mavis (Selena Gomez) is busy visiting her human in-laws with Johnny - and in for a major cultural shock of her own - "Vampa" Drac enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a "monster-in-training" boot camp. Mel Brooks joins the cast as Drac's father Vlad!
