AMAZING 1ST PICS FOR "300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE" EPIC WITH SULLIVAN STAPLETON! LUKE EVANS IN "DRACULA" EPIC FILM! NEW POSTER FOR "STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS"!

Now this is a true delight! The first images from this year's biggest epic adventure, the long anticipated sequel (or better to say a prequel), 300: RISE OF AN
EMPIRE showing magnetic Australian star Sullivan Stapleton in the lead role of Themistokles. The second picture shows the battle formations of his soldiers at the sea! Directed by Noam Murro and ready to open up in cinemas this August, the epic movie, based on Frank Miller's latest graphic novel Xerxes and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster 300, as the new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield on the sea as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. 300 RISE OF AN EMPIRE pits
Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy! The film will feature six distinct battles with different locations and tactics!

LUKE EVANS IS DRACULA YEAR ZERO FOR UNIVERSAL
While NBC is preparing their TV show on DRACULA with Jonathan Rhys Meyers (currently being shot in Budapest), Universal is also
preparing their big screen version of the famous vampire story with brilliant Welsh star Luke Evans in the lead role! After playing Zeus in IMMORTALS, one of THE THREE MUSKETEERS and Bard the Bowman in THE HOBBIT THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, Luke will, according to "Variety", play the legendary count in the new film which is a mix of mythology and true history as it follows the story of Prince Vlad, the inspiration for the Dracula character popularized by the Bram Stoker novel. Luke Evans was chosen for the role over Sam Worthington and Tom Hardy. Beside THE HOBBIT, you will also watch the charismatic Welshman in his first villainous role in FAST AND FURIOUS 6!

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS NEW POSTER
Check out the new "Earth Will Fall" poster for long anticipated STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS sequel which finally starts its cinematic life May 17th starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho, Zoe Saldana,
Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and Benedict Cumberbatch. Directed by J.J. Abrams the explosive science fiction action is set in the wake of a shocking act of terror which happened from within their own organization, and the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew!
DID YOU KNOW? Benedict Cumberbatch had a 4,000 calories per day diet in order to prepare himself for the role of John Harrison, a one man weapon of mass destruction who is pitted against Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise as he wages war against Starfleet.

  7. Actually the Star Trek one looks very cool - with Cumberbatch as the baddie - haven't you noticed Hollywood's preference for Brits to play the baddies against American 'heroes'? Loved '300' but I'll reserve judgement on this one although I love the graphic-novel translated to film concept.

    Cheers,
    Doc

    1. What puzzles me is why are they focusing the marketing campaign 100% at Cumberbatch? The first film was so successful because it didn't focus on a villain but on the crew of the Enterprise. As if the rest of the cast doesn't have any stars .. not to mention that half of the world doesn't even watch SHERLOCK.

300 is my most anticipated film this year. Love me sword and sandal epics :)

  10. Dracula sounds like it could be amazing... I can't wait to see how Evans portrays Bard the Bowman in The Hobbit too. I think if they stick to the 14th century and make it an "epic period piece" then we should be good;)

    1. should be a good one, I'm only concerned that the director is an unknown, and he did only commercials so far, which means that Universal will probably release the film in an August slot :(
But I deeply believe in my dear Luke and will keep fingers crossed for my Welshman :)

    1. it will likely be one of the biggest hits of the year, unless the marketing campaign which focused solely on Benedict (who is relatively unknown to most of the world) ruins everything.

  14. Cannot wait for Star Trek, particularly Karl Urban. And Luke is the perfect choice for Vlad Tepes. He is intense and really hypnotic. I could watch him all day, every day.

    1. I'm sad that we haven't seen much of Karlito in the trailers and pictures so far :((( Horrid Alice Eve got more space than him... we live in a mad world....

Nom nom on Luke as Dracula... I'm preparing my neck for the auditions :)
