AMAZING FIRST PICTURES FROM UPCOMING NEW HISTORICAL SHOWS "THE WHITE QUEEN" WITH REBECCA FERGUSON, DAVID OAKES, MAX IRONS AND "VIKINGS" WITH TRAVIS FIMMEL, CLIVE STANDEN, GABRIEL BYRNE

I have lovely treats for you, my little freaks, for the opening day of the new year. First pictures from some of the upcoming new epic shows. First, check out the lovely photos from historical series THE WHITE QUEEN a luxurious new show which will air at BBC and STARZ later this year. You can read more about it in HOLLYWOOD SPY's exclusive spotlight on the show, but, set in the period of the War of the Roses and based on Phillipa Gregory's bestselling novel series "The Cousin's War", the ten part series follows a group of women who find themselves caught up in the race for the throne. The women work behind the scenes, scheming ruthlessly to help their lovers, and their children, and will stop at nothing to gain - or keep - the throne. With the nation at war for the past nine years over the
rightful King of England, the two sides of the same family - The House of York and The House of Lancaster - are also facing their own battle. The cast is lead by gorgeous Rebecca Ferguson in the lead role, and
with James Frain, godawful Max Irons as king Edward IV, David Oakes, Aneurin Bernard...

VIKINGS
The other batch of photos comes from another epic show which will hit small screens this Spring - VIKINGS, the first scripted series from History Channel. You can read more about the show in HOLLYWOOD
SPY's spotlight, but the story will follow Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) while he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. Ragnar Lothbrok is based upon the real-life Viking leader who literally exploded out of Scandanavia and onto the world stage in the 8th Century.
A young Norwegian farmer with a wife and family, Ragnar is deeply frustrated by the unadventurous policies of his local chieftan, Earl Haraldson, who continues to send his Vikings raiders east every
summer, to the Baltic states and Russia, whose populations are as materially poor as themselves. The cast will also include Clive Standen, Gustaf Skarsgard, Gabriel Byrne, George Blagden ...

  3. I had to Google Max Irons and I still don't know who he is. I like the little dude of yourself there, hanging with Santa.

Happy 2013. Which I keep typing 2012 and having to retype. My gosh.

Off to get some dough together for the morning's bake. Cheers and boogie boogie.

    1. he starred in RED RIDING HOOD and was painfully horrible, even KStew and RPats are Oscarworthy actors compared to him.

Starting the new year with some dough isn't a bad prospect :))) Happy 2013!

    2. Change of plans, not sure if I'll get to make dough before work. But if not, I'll do some kind of bake after work.

      Never saw Red Riding Hood.

  8. Looking forward to The White Queen, sounds marvelously devious. Costumes should be fun and it won't be the snooze fest of Downtown Abbey.

The gamers will love the Vikings if nothing else for the shields. Yeah, it's a huge deal to paint those shields!

You is Santa's little elf darling.

I'm getting offline for the most part. I've got about 50 blogs to comment on and no time to even reply to comments on my blog. The Hubby awaits my loving ministrations.

Hoping next year is better and that your back gets better to darling.

Forget the blogosphere, dahlink, and get busy with the hubs while the house is empty :)

    1. tones of the new ones as you can see in my FEATURED EPIC SHOWS segment in the sidebar :) We are facing the golden age of epic shows, and I'm praying that none of them disappoint even though tones of them such as CAMELOT, GAME OF THRONES, BORGIAS weren't good enough or not good at all :(

Me does have a pretty tail feather :PP
