SENDS BEN MENDELSOHN & JULIETTE BINOCHE TO PARIS
Apple TV + is producing a WW2 Paris mini TV series THE NEW LOOK with Ben Mendelsohn playing Christian Dior and Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel. Inspired by true events the series depicts the meteoric rise of fashion designer Christian Dior as he dethrones the Grande Dame Coco Chanel and helps return spirit and life to the world with his
ground-breaking, iconic imprint of beauty and influence.
In addition to Dior, whose creations dominated world fashion in the decade following World War II, and Chanel, the interwoven saga will include the stories of other rivals including Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and more. Todd A. Kessler is the creator.

16TH CENTURY SET MOVIE
Nordic streaming service Viaplay is preparing female led English language adventure STOCKHOLM BLOODBATH set in 1520 and exploring a dark chapter in Sweden’s history, which saw the infamous massacre of nearly 100 nobles and civilians in the Swedish capital. The story is told
through the eyes of Anne and her foster sister Freja as they seek revenge on the men who murdered their family at Anne’s wedding. Their quest leads them to Stockholm, where they are drawn into a ruthless political power struggle between Sweden and Denmark that culminates in a mass execution known to history as the Stockholm Bloodbath.

Juliette Binoche looks a bit different here...just rewatched her Chocolate a few days ago..Cate Blanchett always looks so stunning.ReplyDelete
She rarely has longer hair and this is the only photo of her I could find in which she looks at least a bit feminine :)Delete
Grrr. Apple is getting the best series, but I can't subscribe to more streaming services. I guess I'll miss this one.ReplyDelete
Humans will soon be leaving all they earn to gazillion different streaming services, sadly. At some point they will have to organise one major streamer with them all together in it and sharing monies according to viewings of their programmes.Delete
I swear Cate is ageless!ReplyDelete
Admittedly, this isn't the freshest of her pics :)Delete
Looks like it's time to resubscribe to Apple TV. I've been on the fence about it, but they have finally upped their game when it comes to programs. I'll probably grab it this summer when I have a little more down time.ReplyDelete
Hope you won't live to regret it LOL Apple is defo up there with Amazon, Netflix, Disney and Hulu, only Peacock and HBO Max are struggling as far as I have heard, so they will have to decrease their prices or make better programmes.Delete
I hope all this competition works in favor of us, the public.Delete
I think it will. It’s like when iTunes hit and the artists were pissed people could choose to purchase just one song. Well, gone were the days of producing subpar music for most of an album knowing consumers had no choice but to fork over $15 or $20 just to have access to the one or two songs that were even worth listening to out of the lot. Artists were being held accountable for quality content once it switched to single pay. The same will be true for streaming services. Can’t produce quality content? There are a dozen other services to switch to that do. No need to be tied to one platform that has lots of content, but nothing worthwhile to watch. Just cancel and move to the next. Or, single pay for movies and show episodes without subscription to these services at all. This is going to be great for the consumers, I believe.Delete
Fingers crossed, I think the competition is starting this year with both Netflix and Amazon preparing so many massive expensive epic series. But I feel that none of them caters to other tastes. Netflix rarely has anything for older people, even though they could. Amazon apparently has, but it is very difficult discovering what they have in their offer and their press is awful.Delete
So true. I have a hard time finding anything on both Amazon or Netflix a lot of the times. Netflix keeps catering to the younger crowd, many of which don't even pay for their service, but mooch the passwords off of their parents. I mean, every one of my friends that has kids in high school, college, or newly graduated all use their parents accounts. Mariah just lost her Amazon student discount since she graduated and has been using ours since. Jason said, "oof, gonna suck for Mariah once we start cancelling all of these streaming services!" My best friend just had a rant saying "nobody even texts me anymore unless they need a password!" LOL. And yet, they want to cater to the kids who don't pay. When us parents start getting fed up, they will start regretting not giving us old timers more content to choose from as well.Delete
Lol at Jason!Delete
I do not generally get Netflix, they only keep what has over 50 million viewers or so, so only hits, which means that they only offer what is mediocre, but they have enough money to buy so many shows around the world and stream them.
The New Boy sounds really interesting! I hope it has a happy ending. I wonder if it’s based on a true story.ReplyDelete
Nuns are scary even when they look like Blanchett. I still remember that Lambs of God Australian series with crazy nuns... jeepers creepers....Delete
