The latest international movie set in the days of World War II to land at Netflix is Norwegian historical drama NUMBER 24 which will be available for streaming from January 1st. Super gorgeous Sjur Vatne Brean leads this cast of the film that already played in Nordic cinemas earlier this year. He plays young apprentice Gunnar Sønsteby from Rjukan who decides to resist Nazi Germany on the day of the invasion to later become the leader of the "Oslo-gang" carrying out countless daring acts of sabotage making him Norway's greatest war hero. SET IN 2037 this seven episode series sees a Norway that has severed all ties with the rest of the world. The decision to isolate, made by a Norwegian government led by members of the Our Way party, came after various crises had plagued countries across Europe (and the world) for years. Surrounded by an enormous wall, the nation has become entirely self-sufficient, and the fortunate inhabitants enjoy sheltered lives in a self-sustaining Nordic paradise. Then there are those on the other side of the wall: the non-Norwegian people held in refugee camps, surrounded by barbed wire and armed soldiers. When a deadly pandemic breaks out and affects Norway’s food supply, a government advisor states that the cause came “from the outside, of course.” But did it, really? In the meantime, the Norwegians soon realize that the wall meant to protect them is now holding them prisoner.

We are in the international waters today, spylings, as I have posters to present from two new period set movies. First up is SULIS 1907 from Norway, a historical drama scheduled for release October 6th. Directed by Nils Gaup and starring Otto Fahlgren, Simon J. Berger, Alexandra Gjerpen, Anders Dahlberg and Rune Temte, this period set movie starts in 1907, when the miners in Sulitjelma in Fauske in Nordland made a famous rebellion against greedy mine owners.

After the first season broke all records scoring astounding 100 million viewers from all corners of the world, the most expensive series ever and the most beautiful one of the year behind us THE RINGS OF POWER is preparing the second season and after the new names added to the cast last week, they have now added eight more: Oliver Alvin-Wilson, Stuart Bowman, Gavi Singh Chera, William Chubb, Kevin Eldon, Will Keen, Selina Lo, and Calam Lynch have join the series, which is currently shooting the second season in the UK. Here's one I forgot to tell you about last week: Chris Bohjalian's novel THE LIONESS will be turned into a TV series by eOne. Out tomorrow, the book a historical fiction thriller that follows a Hollywood starlet and her entourage as they embark on a luxurious African safari that turns deadly. This is not the first of Bohjalian's works to get a small screen treatment: his bestseller The Flight Attendant is now also a popular television series over at HBO. Sherry Marsh, who worked on Vikings: Valhalla is executive producing. Last year I also informed you that she is producing The Winter King series for Sony based on Bernard Cornwell's Arthurian books.

Over 100 taxis have been requisitioned for the assignment. Jewish women, men, children and the elderly will be arrested and deported on the same day. A month earlier, the police in Oslo had arrested almost all Jewish men over the age of 15 and gathered them at the Berg internment camp outside Tønsberg. Early in the morning on November 26, they are woken up and driven away by train in cattle carts. The destination is the quay in Oslo. Jews from all over Norway have been brought and

The story of the Braude family is at the center of the action in the film. An ordinary Norwegian working class family who until these fateful days had lived their lives in safety on Grünerløkka. There they lived with their dreams for life and ambitions for the future, but had their destiny sealed by the fact that they were Jews.
