MAXIMA TV SERIES
ON THE DUTCH QUEEN
Since it is very much trendy these days unveiling secrets about royal families, the next one in line is Holland as RTL is preparing MAXIMA six episode drama about the Argentinian-born Dutch Queen Máxima known for her exquisite fashion and elegant outfits. Delfina Chaves and gorgeous
Martijn Lakemeier, whom we watched as the queen's platonic lover in Marie Antoinette, have already been set as the leads. The series will start shooting this June in Argentina, New York, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands!
Delfina Chaves will play queen Maxima |
From the moment Máxima Zorreguieta appears at the Dutch crown prince’s
side, she finds herself in the spotlight. When Willem-Alexander asks her
to marry him, the past catches up with her. Heated discussion erupts
about her father’s political career in the Videla regime, a discussion
she never faced in her own circles. What allows this Argentine to
finally thrive at an old European court? And how can Máxima stay true to
herself without giving up her family, or do these things not go
together?
The series will kick off with a present-day storyline starting in 1999
in Seville, when Máxima and Willem-Alexander meet for the first time. It
will then transition into a second storyline set in the past, where we
see how Máxima was prepared for this step her entire life. When the
press catches wind of her relationship with the crown prince, the pair
find themselves on a roller coaster, that only slows down with the
announcement of their engagement in 2001.

OBSESSION NETFLIX SERIES
STARRING RICHARD ARMITAGE
Netflix has revealed first images from their new steamy series OBSESSION which will air its three episodes this April with Richard Armitage playing a respected London surgeon whose affair with his son’s fiancée turns into an erotic infatuation that threatens to change their lives forever! Armitage is William, a doctor who embarks on a passionate affair with his soon-to-be daughter in law, Anna (Charlie Murphy).
Anna is already engaged to William’s son Martyn. She fights to keep both relationships alive, one with Martyn and one with William, but it is inevitable that the truth will emerge and someone is going to get hurt.
In the meantime, William finds himself drawn into an obsessive spiral, unbeknown to his wife Ingrid. Indira Varma also stars in the April 13th series.
Ilove Queen Maxima, our Latina contribution to the monarchy. I'm glad they got an Argentine to play her, although Delfina is a bit too slender. Wait, the have Toinette frolicking with Du Barry but her relation with Fersen is platonic? They were de facto lovers ad I suspect the first Dauphin was sired by the Swede.
ReplyDeleteYes. Louis sends him to America to be their officer there when he finds out Marie has hots for him, I mean who wouldn't... he is deadly gorgeous and has that something something, you will see, he appears in later episodes. Deborah had to make it platonic because Marie being a whorish adultress that she obviously was would not fit her feminist agenda. But she did not stoop from sending Louis to whores to learn how to satisfy her royal cooch LOL
DeleteYes, my brother and I were subjected to bullying at the time.
DeleteI have only watched 1883, so far and I’m amazed at the excellence of the script. After the avalanche of poor script writing (Perry Mason’s second season is the best example) is quite refreshing. I also admire its historicity, good acting and strong characters.
As I say I haven’t watched 1923 yet, but Harrison Ford is an idol in this family. My sister loved him since his Han Solo Days and I since Indiana Jones. My sister and I watched (at the cinema) Raiders of the Lost Ark three times on the same day!
I don’t understand Debora’s mentality. Kissing Du Barry, letting Louie paw her is not adultery? I know women who have divorced husbands just because they’ve kissed another woman. Since the days of Simone de Beauvoir (who claimed infidelity was the one way a married woman could express her freedom), extreme feminism condones adultery in married women. Moreover, pop culture has always shown us Marie Antoinette conducting an affair with Fersen. Since 1938, he has been played by heartthrobs like Tyrone Power, Richard Todd and Jamie Dornan, and always their relationship has been shown as physical. Historians have played it down, but in 2016, they decoded letters exchanged between the Count and the Queen that showed how intimate they were.
I made a mistake. Fersen becomes close to Toinette when she is pregnant of her first daughter. The dead Dauphin was born way after Fersen had left for the Americas. But there is a possibility that he fathered Louis XVII. Since he was always abroad, his romance with the Queen was intermittent.
He appears just in one episode if I remember correctly, and their relationship is very innocent in the series, I cannot remember if they even kissed. And they don't even explain why she would fall for him when she has her husband... it was just a silly series, cannot wait to see her dead in the end of it.
DeleteHaving an affair with his son’s fiancée...wtf? I am just conservative for this sh I t...Delfina Chaves looks so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell if daddy is hot as hell, how can she resist? LOL
