SONY BUYS MOVIE RIGHTS

ON 'THEMIS FILES' SF NOVEL

Not much to report today, except the two books that have been sold for big screen adaptations, starting with THEMIS FILES by Sylvain Neuvel that Sony wants to produce as a potential tent pole! It follows a secret project to assemble the ancient body parts of a giant humanoid relic buried throughout the world by aliens. It’s discovered in South Dakota, where a young girl falls into a huge hole and lands in the palm of a giant metal hand. The government swarms, but loses interest after failing to gain any military or technological secrets. By the time it’s demilitarized years later, that young girl is a physicist and she spearheads the building project after other body parts are discovered around the U.S. She tries all this covertly in an underground facility in Denver but when her project goes public, the paranoia and greed push mankind to the brink of world war, even as its researchers puzzle over whether they are reviving a weapon of mass destruction or something else.

UNIVERSAL BUYS MOVIE RIGHTS

ON 'THE TERRIBLE TWO' BOOK
Here's another book adaptation for us to look forward too: Universal has bought movie rights on THE TERRIBLE TWO book by Mac Barnett and Jory John which was published last month and is about to be released in 200,000 new copies, after being sold to Amulet Books for a seven digit sum following a heated battle between seven publishers. The book follows the exploits of Miles Murphy, a middle school student who has a reputation as the school's best prankster in history. The young man is forced to relocate to the small town of Yawnee Valley, where he naturally expects to be the best prankster at his new school, until Miles realizes he has some unexpected competition.

TEASER & PICS - DESTRUCTION WAS NOT HIS DESIGN

Starz has released first teaser trailer and some new photos for the third season of the planetary popular epic show DA VINCI'S DEMONS which is broadcast in almost 200 countries around the world! The third season should probably start airing at the end of March or beginning of April, and as you can see in the teaser Leonardo (Tom Riley) will be faced with himself as an enemy - or to be more precise with his weapons and genius. Photos also show Elliot Cowan as Lorenzo Medici and Blake Ritson as Count Riario. Laura Haddock and Lara Pulver also star in the series about the life of the famous painter, focusing on his early years in Renaissance Florence. Third season will pick up directly after the events of the second season finale, and will see Da Vinci in turmoil as the city of Otranto is torn apart by an Ottoman invasion. As I reported earlier, David S. Goyer has left the helm to work on other projects and the new showrunner is John Shiban (X FILES). Speaking of epic series, I've uploaded 1st trailer for MUSKETEERS series, click to watch!

Coming out next March, the film will see Richard Madden playing the prince, Lily James as CINDERELLA, Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother whom you can also see in a poster above!

LAUREN GRAHAM TO LEAD

'KATE ON LATER' NBC SITCOM
Only a month ago I reported that our beloved Lauren Graham will guest star in Matthew Perry's new sitcom THE ODD COUPLE as his ex wife, and now it seems she will get a whole new comedy series on her own too playing the first ever female host of a late night show: she, Ellen DeGeneres and NBC will develop new sitcom KATE ON LATER in which she will play a woman who thought her day job was all her life would amount to when an opportunity arises that’s bigger than she ever dreamed possible. But that opportunity means she’s going to have to break one of the last remaining glass ceilings — the world of late-night network television talk shows.
'WALKING DEAD' SPINOFF CASTS FRANK DILANE & ALYCIA DEBNAM
Although THE WALKING DEAD has been ruined losing all direction and sense, if you ask me, in the fifth season, its spinoff series is being prepared over at AMC with the story  taking place during the same zombie apocalypse but in a different place following male divorced teacher and a female guidance counsellor. The first actors to be cast are Frank Dillane, who will play the woman's drug using son, and Alycia Debnam Carey as her ambitious daughter.

'THE WATER DIVINER'

RUSSEL CROWE'S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT GETS A NEW POSTER

Also getting a new poster is Russell Crowe drama THE WATER DIVINER which will open up in cinemas next spring with Russell both directing and staring as an Australian man who travels to Turkey  after the Battle of Gallipoli to try and locate his three missing sons. World War One drama also stars Olga Kurylenko and Jai Courtney!

STUNNING 'CINDERELLA' TRAILER WITH CATE BLANCHETT, RICHARD MADDEN, HELENA BONHAM CARTER! FX ORDERS TOM HARDY'S 'TABOO' EPIC TV SERIES! CHRIS PRATT IS 'COWBOY, NINJA, VIKING'

FX ORDERS TOM HARDY'S

'TABOO' HISTORICAL ADVENTURE DRAMA INTO SERIES

I have announced this project a year or so ago, but now the info is that FX has officially ordered TABOO historical series! Actor Tom Hardy has written the drama with his father Chips Hardy and he will also take the lead role of a 19th century adventurer in Africa! To be executive produced by Ridley Scott, the eight episode first season should air sometime in 2016 and it will follow James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy), a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a very dangerous game!

CHRIS PRATT IS

'COWBOY, NINJA, VIKING'
While his fans are, for some reason, raising havoc around the net because he wasn't voted the Sexiest Man Alive this year (People magazine gave that title deservedly to Chris Hemsworth), Chris Pratt is pondering on future projects. According to 'Collider' he will lead the cast in COWBOY NINJA VIKING as an assassin with Multiple Personality Disorder who possesses the skills of a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking! Pratt will be Duncan, a counter-intelligence agent known as a 'triplet' because of his three distinct personalities. Duncan escapes his handlers, hunting down the millionaire who masterminded the 'Triplet' program. As you know, Chris also has JURASSIC WORLD ahead of him!

STUNNING 'CINDERELLA' TRAILER

WITH CATE BLANCHETT, RICHARD MADDEN, LILY JAMES AND HELENA BONHAM CARTER

Something we've waited for a really long time is finally here: the first deeply enchanting trailer for Disney's and Kenneth Branagh's CINDERELLA which will dance its way into cinemas next March! You can also check out the first poster shot exclusively by Annie Leibovitz!

ELLA IN A BLUE GOWN
The story of Cinderella follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine (marvellous Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella's father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the Palace sends out an open invitation for all maidens to attend a ball, raising Ella's hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit (Richard Madden). Alas, her stepmother forbids her to attend and callously rips apart her dress. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand, and a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin and a few mice, changes Cinderella's life forever. Hayley Atwell plays CINDERELLA's mother, Derek Jacobi plays the King, and Stellan Skarsgård is the King's scheming adviser.
