NEW 'PETE'S DRAGON' TRAILER
SHOWS MORE GREEN BEAST
This August's two big movies have got their second trailers today, starting with the remake of PETE'S DRAGON which will wing its way into cinemas August 12th starring Karl Urban, Bryce Dallas Howard, Wes Bentley and Robert Redford!
SOME PETS ARE TOO BIG TO KEEP
For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales... until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete's descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham's stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

NEW 'BEN HUR' TRAILER
WITH THE CHARIOT RACES
The second trailer has also been released for another movie that will storm into theatres on chariots the next weekend in August: remake of BEN HUR with Jack Huston in the lead role! It follows the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption. The movie also stars Morgan Freeman and Rodrigo Santoro as Jesus himself.
Well dang, both of those are tearjerkers aren't they?
ReplyDeleteindeed they are, makes you cry how bad Ben Hur was cast :)
DeleteIndeed....
Deletepositively so
DeleteJason saw a preview for Pete's Dragon and was like "What the hell is this?" He just isn't educated on old stories and new films.
ReplyDeletebut the dragon really is ever so cute :)
DeleteIt is though!
Deletea fury beast
Delete"Ben-Hur" is looking better and better all the time.
ReplyDeletenow, there's something for you to watch comes August!
DeleteEep Ben hur sounds sad and a little dramatic! Imagine being stripped of everthing and becoming a slave? It makes me sad to think life really was this way!
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean was? Do you know how many people still slave away all around the world.... It is highly possible that most of the things you use every day have been made by modern slaves :(
DeleteMuch different looking dragon than what I'm used to
ReplyDeletebut in a good, cuddly way
DeleteI wish my kids were still young enough to enjoy Pete's Dragon.
ReplyDeletemaybe Uncle Jeffy?
DeleteInteresting remakes for both.

DeleteI love the trailer for Pete's Dragon. Seeing more of Elliot in this one and I like that. That's going to be a good one.
ReplyDeleteI remain indifferent to Ben Hur. The trailer didn't do anything for me. Also, with all the killing in the world today, I just can't stomach a movie with killing in it.
Right now movies and television will have to be pure escapism.
I hope Dragon won't flop, I have a feeling it will be a hit around the world and flop in USA.
DeleteThat is why I have my sitcom Saturday, to cleanse my spirit from all the crap we see and hear during the week. That is when I watch cute sitcoms, currently BABY DADDY, YOUNG AND HUNGRY, FULLER HOUSE, THE RANCH and UNCLE BUCK and VICIOUS final episode on Sunday
Ben Hur is such a classic that it seems almost like sacrilege to touch it with a remake. I'm scared. How badly will they mess this one up? I'm not encouraged by the contemporary music in the trailer. I fear that this will go badly, but maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Tossing It Out
yes, a sacrilege especially with such a poor micast. They did use almost 40 horses in one of the scenes, though
DeleteBoth of those movies look awesome. The kids are way excited about Pete's Dragon, and I'm way excited about Ben Hur.
ReplyDeletenow, then there's a choice for all :)
DeletePoor Morgan Freeman being sentenced to wear that wig. Hopefully Pete's Dragon will be a hit.
ReplyDeleteit is positively appalling, isn't it?
DeleteBryce is hotter than that dragon.
ReplyDeletepuhlease
DeleteAs said before I'm looking forward to Ben Hur!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
