'STAR TREK BEYOND'
CHARACTER POSTERS ARE IN
While we're anxiously waiting to see what will the new STAR TREK TV series, starting in January at CBS, be about and who will stand at the helm of Enterprise (Nathan Fillion being fans' favourite rumoured name), we shall first watch the third movie in the rebooted saga (or the thirteenth at all) STAR TREK BEYOND which will boldly sail into the cinemas around the world from July 22nd this summer! Today you can enjoy the character posters showing all the stars portraying our beloved sf heroes!
THE CREW IS BACK
In the $150 million movie, the crew of the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five year mission, which takes them into uncharted territory, are attacked by a seemingly unstoppable wave of unknown aliens forcing them to abandon ship. Stranded on an unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue nor communication, the crew find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy, while Kirk must work out a plan to reunite his crew and get back to Earth.

CHRIS PINE AND KARL URBAN LEADING THE CAST AGAIN
With FAST AND FURIOUS franchise director Justin Lin behind the helm of STAR TREK BEYOND instead of J.J. Abrams who had to work on STAR WARS saga, the cast is again lead by the ensemble that has built up an amazing chemistry among themselves in the first two movies of the rebooted series. Chris Pine returns again as the young Captain Kirk fresh from the Star Fleet Academy and now given the command of Enterprise which he is taking into the legendary exploring mission with most famous Vulcan in the universe Spock, played by Zachary Quinto, as his trusted commander. It is interesting that while both Pine and Quinto have contracts signed for the fourth movie as well, the rest of the crew did not have presigned contracts even for this one, which Karl Urban, who is again playing everybody's beloved grumpy Doctor Bones or Lieutenant Commander McCoy, has recently confirmed by saying he did not even know he is returning for the third part, which is shocking given that his character is fans' favourite. Zoe Saldana is gain Lieutenant Uhura, John Cho portrays Lieutenant Sulu and Anton Yelchin is Lieutenant Chekov! Idris Elba is the main villain in the movie called Krall, while Sofia Boutella is Jaylah, the alien warrior you see in the trailer with the white skin. Oscar winner Shohreh Aghdashloo was cast as the High Command of the Federation for reshoots on the film.
Enjoyed the previous two, pure popcorn!
ReplyDeleteI liked the first one, the second one not so much
DeleteThese look like they will be popular movies!
ReplyDelete~Jess
agreed
DeleteI really hope this one is as good as the first two
ReplyDeletehopefully as the first one only
DeleteThis looks like a collectible series of posters--very slickly done. From the trailer I've seen this looks interesting. I'm sure it will be a big smash hit.
ReplyDeleteNow I wish they'd stop making the movies about space stuff and actually do some major manned space exploration. At least send people to the moon again.

Tossing It Out
Again? So, we're sure we were there the first time? :))
DeleteI recently read an article about all the dogs the Russians sent into space in the 60's and 50's, they were all treated as heroes even their puppies :)
Well if we went back (or for the first time after all) it might be easier to prove. I'd like to see some kind of of effort with economic gain with lunar expeditions--if that were a possible thing.
DeleteAlso there are a lot of folks here on Earth whom I'd like to see relocated to some faraway place like the moon.

Possibly on the Moon's dark side :)
DeleteI love Star Trek! And I love the reboot movies' cast. They should all be locked in. The only two I think are miscast are the actors playing Scotty and Chekov. Both irritate me.
ReplyDeleteScotty irritates the hell out of me as well, Simon Peg is such a blasted idiot, and now he is writing the script as well so I'm guessing Scotty will be in it a lot... can't stand him.
DeleteStill haven't seen a Star Trek yet, but I do think the posters are pretty neat!
ReplyDeletethe first movie was rather fun and lovely to watch
DeleteLooking forward to seeing this.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely!
DeleteI'm excited to see this. Missed the second one in theaters because Jamaica does not always have the best history with SCi-Fi. I mean Jupiter Ascending stayed here longer than the second Star Trek movie. Ouch. Say it on cable though and liked it. First movie is probably going to be the big favorite though.
ReplyDeletethe first one was unbeatable!
DeleteFantastic posters! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Peter
