SF SATURDAY: ROSA SALAZAR IS 'BATTLE ANGEL ALITA'! 'ANDRON' SF TRAILER WITH ALEC BALDWIN, DANNY GLOVER. 'MAN FROM EARTH HOLOCENE' SEQUEL CASTS STERLING KNIGHT, VANESSA WILLIAMS

'MAN FROM EARTH: HOLOCENE'
SEQUEL CASTS STERLING KNIGHT AND VANESSA WILLIAMS
Well, if you love sf as we do, naturally, you will be happy to hear that one of the biggest sf classics THE MAN FROM EARTH is getting a sequel with THE MAN FROM THE EARTH: HOLOCENE with Vanessa Williams, Sterling Knight, Carlos Knight, and Brittany Curran joining the original star David Lee Smith!
As 'Deadline' writes, the original film followed John Oldman (Smith), a man who has lived for millennia, always moving on after ten years to hide his secret. The story was told over the course of an intense evening conversation between Oldman and his acquaintances. HOLOCENE in the sequel title describes the historical period stretching from the end of the most recent ice age to the current day.

'BATTLE ANGEL ALITA'
ROSA SALAZAR TO LEAD
In other sf news (beside the happy info that WARCRAFT has started breaking records in the cinemas around the world this weekend), it has been confirmed that MAZE RUNNER actress Rosa Salazar will lead the movie adaptation of famous BATTLE ANGEL ALITA to be helmed by Robert Rodriguez. Produced by James Cameron who was supposed to direct it but he has too many AVATARS to do, it has the story set in the 26th century, following an amnesiac female cyborg rescued from a scrapyard and rebuilt. Possessing no memories of her life before being rebuilt but retaining an impressive set of fighting skills, she becomes a bounty hunter while seeking to discover more about her past.

'ANDRON' SF TRAILER
 ONLY ONE SURVIVES
And a suitably sf trailer for you starring Alec Baldwin and Danny Glover. ANDRON:  In the year 2154, a group of young men and women awake in a dark claustrophobic maze. They don't remember who they are or how they got stuck in the Black Labyrinth of ANDRON. The group must learn to decipher codes, understand the signals and beat the tests in this mysterious and bizarre place. Out of necessity they struggle to form a bond to survive, while the outside world watches and wagers on their fate. It is out next week in USA.

    1. me too, but it seems it was rather beloved by the sf fans and became a cult sf movie after that

  2. I'm not surprised Warcraft is breaking records. I wasn't planning on seeing it myself, but I as soon as school is out next week, I may end up taking my nephew. I think he'd really like that one.

  3. This is my first time hearing of The Man From Earth- but it does sound interesting (sequel too). Andron sounds intense- that would definitely be a scary situation to be in!

    1. I haven't heard of it before either, which says a lot since HOLLYWOOD SPY is world's number one spot for historical and sf things, but I hear fans really love it fervently

  4. I had not heard of Man from Earth either but I looked it up and it sounds like it is very cerebral. This is one I'll be looking forward too.

I'm not surprised that Warcraft is doing so well either. You know, I wasn't interested in it at first. However with each of the trailers you posted, it began to win me over. I'm pretty sure the Spawn will buy that one when it comes out on DVD so I'll see it then.

I have really missed talking to you dahlink. One gets starved for good conversation over here. The last of the big plants went into the ground today. Now I can slow down and make time to visit you regularly.

    1. It is doing really well even though some websites are trying to trash it (the USA ones). The world would be a sad place without such epic adventures on the big screens at least sometimes...

Missed you too, dear. You probably noticed that there are less and less bloggers out there these days.... and the big ones have gone away or are taking it more easy like me.... the world is changing.

Everything bloomed one month ahead this year here because of that tropical March, so we now only have roses. It is over 30*C here this weekend, I'm dying since I haven't dusted my AC yet :) Hope your shamrocks are well after all the storms
