'VAN HELSING' SF SERIES
 KELLY OVERTON LEADS THE CAST
TV news for you this Sunday, starting with the cast round up for SyFy's new epic series VAN HELSING! Kelly Overton will lead the 13 episode drama which follows Vanessa Helsing, a descendent of the Van Helsing lineage of warriors who now must lead mankind against a world controlled by vampires in the post-Rising landscape.
Jonathan Scarfe will play Axel, a career Marine with unwavering devotion and loyalty to both duty and his wards, despite years of isolation and endless vampire attacks. Christopher Heyerdahl will play Sam, a survivor of the vampire Rising, who relies on his strength and observational skills to stay alive. David Cubitt is John, another survivor of the vampire Rising, whose actions are fuelled by anger, prejudice, suspicion and fear. Paul Johansson is Dimitri, a vampire turned before the Rising, he is now the patient and calculating leader of the vampires. Tim Guinee will play Ted, a vampire foot soldier who does battle with Vanessa and conceals a tragic past. Production starts tomorrow for Fall airing.

NBC SITCOM PILOTS UPDATES
STOCKARD CHANNING TO LEAD 'ME AND MEAN MARGARET'
Meanwhile, when it comes to multi camera sitcoms, always delightful Stockard Channing is to lead NBC's new sitcom pilot ME AND MEAN MARGARET which will follow a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress, and the ambitious 27-year-old lawyer forced to babysit her.
'MARLON' FINDS HIS LADIES
NBC is also rounding up the cast for their sitcom MARLON! Loosely inspired by Marlon Wayan’s life, it centres on an inappropriate but loving father (Wayans) committed to successfully co parenting with his polar opposite ex-wife. TRUTH BE TOLD's Bresha Webb will play his biggest enemy, his ex wife's best friend. Essence Atkins will play the ex wife, a type-A interior designer by trade and something of a control freak who did one reckless and spontaneous thing in her life: fell in love with Marlon.

    1. Fingers crossed, but I wouldn't raise my hopes up. They've recently released WYNONNA EARP trailer too and it was godawful

    2. I have some questions about Van Helsing. If the vampires take over the world, how long will it take for them to drink all the humans dry? Will some drink only animal blood? Or will they breed us like cattle as a food source? These are the questions that keep me up at night dahlink :0)

Ooooh, I used my quiet time to watch Home Fires and it was wonderful. I'm so glad they began the series a bit before the war. That way we can see what the ladies lives were like before the war and how they changed throughout. I was happy to see Pat's dreadful husband sent off to be a War Correspondent. With him not stepping on her I think she will find she has so many talents and skills to offer the world.

    3. I reckon them bloodsuckers feed like lions, dear, which would mean a suckysuck a week or even less. They do spent most of their time sleeping like them croconilles :)
The breeding part has started long time ago, dear, you know the governments only breed us cattle for tax source :)

HOME FIRES should bring us the second season some time this year too, Annzie. Don't know when exactly, first they will air INDIAN SUMMERS 2 but we can expect it. The organization of people in the little village left me quite surprised because here we had zero organization when NATO bombed us in the 1999 even though it was halfa century after the WW2. Nobody even told me which shelter to run to in case somebody drops a bomb on me head, if we even had shelters... that is....

    4. I can't understand why they didn't have designated shelters for you guys. And there should have been practice drills for you. The Hubby says that when he was a little boy during the Cold War they had weekly drills for bombs. People even built shelters in their own backyards. I think that's a bit paranoid for a country who has never been attacked.

    5. because we is sooo poor, dear, that we probably don't even have shelters except in the big blocks of flats. And might be also because we've lived through so many shite for centuries that shite now comes to us as everyday thing so we behave like no bombs are falling LOL But seriously, if any of the Western people came to see us while them bombs were dropping like poop from the sky, they'd think we're ravening mad people, which we are.

    6. I feel so fortunate to have never had to live through something like that. I watch a lot of WWI and WWII documentaries and try to imagine such horror, but it's not the same as actually being there.

    7. Being unable to imagine it is usually exactly what gives wings to most wars nowadays, because most people in the West have a couch opinion about it. It is kinda like wearing fur... you'd never wear a fur coat if someone would show you how exactly they make it.

    1. They did have a few mildly nice ones in recent years (I watched DOMINION and Z NATION) but that channel is mostly focused on producing a trash of sorts

  9. It seems Marlon has been in the works for a really looooong time. I feel like we've been hearing about it forever.

Sorry for my absence this weekend. I've been up to my elbows in mud, tiling the bathroom. I haven't opened my laptop since Friday afternoon. All that work has me pooped, I've even be going to bed 3 hours earlier than normal! 2 more weekends and it's done. I can't wait! Hope all's good on your end, dahlink :)

    1. But we do love Marlon, and the other Wyans. I nearly peed myself watching his FIFTY SHADES OF BLACK trailer :)

Is the Bathaus of Mahoneys gutted yet? :) Can't wait to see the result!

    2. Yep, gutted and tiled. I need to grout, but that's not happening until Friday. Then painting and putting in the vanity and shower, a little electrical and hopefully, that's it. We ordered our shower 6 weeks ago and it's been stuck in limbo because the stupid shipping company doesn't have the proper vehicle to deliver to our court. Why the heck would one be in a shipping business if they don't have the proper vehicles to deliver to every address? Thankfully, we have 2 showers in our house, so we don't stink to high heaven, but it's bordering ridiculous the amount of time it is taking them to get it here.

    3. And you is doing all of that yourself? You're such a handy lady, you is! I wouldn't know how to fix a leeking tap let alone tile the whole bathroom :)

It once took a furniture company two months to bring me my sofa :)

  10. So mad Dominion got cancelled. Yeah not trusting this new Hellsing series. Hopefully the Wayans series takes off.

    1. I had a feeling DOMINION would be cancelled because they refused to find a focus and direction even after two years. I will miss Tom Wisdom who is one of my biggest loves in Hollywood, and also a dear friend to our blog. Hope he finds a new show to lead.

  11. For some reason it won't let me reply to your comment. Stupid Blogger always screwing with me. Jason does all the electrical and plumbing and heavy lifting like hanging drywall, but the rest is on me. I used to love doing home improvement, but now that I'm getting older, it has lost its appeal. Home improvement sucks!
