TOM MISON
Although SLEEPY HOLLOW turned into a dragged out monotony with random episodes and no sparkle as early as the second episode finished, we still adore British actor Tom Mison in the lead role. Bringing humour and delightful charm to the character of Ichabod Crane, he certainly did make his own star sparkle in the Hollywood stardom and we are looking forward to seeing him more in the future. The 31 year old actor is also a writer, and he wrote a number of plays for British theatre. We've first spotted him as the dashing soldier boyfriend of Emily Blunt's character in SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN, but you also remember him by his television roles in PARADE'S END and LOST IN AUSTEN television series.
SLEEPY HOLLOW'S DELIGHT
Similarly to her colleague Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie from SLEEPY HOLLOW also has drama education: she finished Juilliard Drama School and she also trained in England. In the show we watch her as lovely, intelligent and dedicated police officer Abbie Mills but she is also known for her critically acclaimed debut in AMERICAN VIOLET and for her role in provocative drama SHAME in which she starred with her real life ex boyfriend Michael Fassbender (they split earlier this January) and with Carey Mulligan who was, interestingly enough, Tom Mison's girlfriend for a few years. She has Nigerian and Jamaican origins and is almost 30cm shorter than Mison which is why she looks so tiny next to him in the show. She is also a singer.

TOBY REGBO
One of the hit new shows that started their premiere run on the small screens this Autumn is also CW's historical series REIGN on the life of Mary Queen of Scots at the time when she was young and engaged to the French heir to the throne. Although a bit too teensy, with shockingly horrible, and even ridiculous, costumes, and often-times a naive plot, the show does bring certain fun and also some eye candy. One of the actors that were certainly noticed in it is young Toby Regbo who plays the love stricken prince Francis of France who has to balance between the wants and needs of his ambitious mother and his strict father on one side and his emotions towards his royal fiancée Mary Queen of Scots on the other side. The 22 years old British charmer, Toby, has played young Albus Dumbledore in the film 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' and will continue with royal roles since you shall watch him next year as young King Stefan in Angelina Jolie's MALEFICENT fantasy!
TORRANCE COOMBS
SENSUAL SEBASTIAN
Prince Francis' half brother Sebastian or Bash in REIGN is also played by a very charismatic actor. Torrance Coombs plays young Bash, who, being the son of the French king and his lover, doesn't have the right on the throne, but is very skilled in dealing with the court intrigues and plots. 30 years old Canadian actor was first noticed by wider audience while he was playing Thomas Culpeper in a reoccurring role in famous historical series THE TUDORS. He also starred in BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and in HEARTLAND series. Like all of the above mentioned stars, he also has theatrical experience.

OLIVER JACKSON COHEN
DRACULA'S HANDSOME PR
Another breakthrough series that Autumn 2013 has brought to us is NBC's DRACULA show bringing the age old vampire to the Victorian London where he poses as a rich investor interested in bringing electricity to the people while at the same time hunting down his enemies from the past. The role of a journalist who becomes Dracula's Victorian PR and advisor, and who at the same time is in a relationship with a girl who is the reincarnation of Dracula's long lost love, went to dashing Oliver Jackson Cohen. If his handsome face was familiar to you it is because you remember him by his great portrayal of the villainous knight in last year's epic mini series WORLD WITHOUT END. 27 years old British actor also starred in THE RAVEN with Luke Evans and in MR. SELFRIDGE series and he also worked as a model which isn't that unusual having in mind that his mother is British fashion designer Betty Jackson (known for designing the crazy costumes in ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS sitcom).
Tom Mison looks better in 18th century clothes!
ReplyDeletemethinks he looks great bothways :)
DeleteDRACULA seem to be starting out nicely.
ReplyDeleteI liked it so far. It's not legendary, but it is still good enough to watch :)
DeleteDEZMOND, It's good enough for me a quite a few others as well, and I guess we're not the only ones, as the ratings are climbing week by week good enough for there to be a Season 2 it seems.
Deleteyou mean DRACULA? It did gain some momentum in the later episodes. I'm still watching it, unlike SLEEPY HOLLOW which I gave up on long time ago
DeleteNicole Behari seems to be a very talented young woman!
ReplyDeleteand she is very pretty too :)
DeleteNicole is far more talented than Sleepy Hollow shows ;)
ReplyDeletethat goes for Tom too :)
DeleteSleepy Hallow just doesn't let the actors true skills shine. That show is such a bore, even they couldn't hold my interest.
ReplyDeleteI've decided to quit watching after last week's episode myself....
DeleteI was hoping Sleepy Hollow would be good. It wasn't...
ReplyDeleteit sure is hollow and makes us sleepy :)
