Netflix has finally released some first photos and also an Autumn start date for their small screen television series adaptation of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER which will, based on Edgar Allan Poe's famous work, be contemporary it seems not period set as we were hoping before. The eight episode adaptation will start streaming October 12th ahead of the Halloween holidays!  Hopefully we will get a trailer soon as well but for now you can check out the first images from the series unveiled today by the streamer.

 

  SHE IS COMING FOR THEM ALL

 the story of the eight episode series, described as an epic tale of greed, horror and tragedy, follows ruthless siblings Roderick (Bruce Greenwood) and Madeline Usher (Carla Gugino), who have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth. So, a very, very loose adaptation of Poe's famous work.

The cast of the brand new series also includes Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, our boy Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney and Robert Longstreet. Bruce Greenwood had previously replaced Frank Langella in the lead role after he was accused of misconduct at the set and was kicked out of the series by Netflix.

A December 22nd opening date and first image have been released for ALL OF US STRANGERS fantasy drama movie from Andrew Haigh. One night in his empty tower block in contemporary London, Adam (Andrew Scott) has a chance encounter with his neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal) that punctures the rhythms of his everyday life. As Adam and Harry get closer, Adam is pulled back to his childhood home where it appears his long-dead parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) are both living and look the same age as the day they died 30 years before.

Now, here is a totally secretive project, so secretive that we have not even heard about it before today even though we are the biggest fans of Sam Claflin. Digital Spy has found first set pic of him in new period set series THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO which is currently filming for unknown broadcaster in an Italian British co-production. French actress Ana Girardot is also filming with him in Paris. The project should not be confused with French movie Le Comte de Monte Cristo with Pierre Niney, which is out next year.

Two siblings battled for the throne of Egypt. After winning that internal struggle by appealing personally to Caesar, Cleopatra had a complicated relationship with Rome, becoming the lover of Caesar and later Marc Antony. The latter alliance would become the undoing of both Antony and Cleopatra. Gadot, who is producing the movie, said she wants to celebrate the legacy of Cleopatra and honor this amazing historic icon!

Coming from Russia today is the first, very enticing, teaser for LITVYAK (Литвяк) war movie about  Lydia Litvyak, a Soviet fighter pilot. Hero. In the world ranking of female combat pilots - the first in line. Her name has been there since August 1943. And probably forever. In almost eighty years of the past, none of the female aces has come close to such a combat score. Unless, of course, you do not count Katerina Budanova, a fellow soldier and Lily's best friend. Katya is the second line. Their regiment flew Yak-1 fighters. Covered attack aircraft, transport workers and ground troops. They fought over Stalingrad, Rostov, they met in battles with German fighters, bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. They returned from battle with empty tanks and holes, fell on enemy territory, burned and landed on their belly, saved friends, suffered losses, were injured and returned to duty again. They won and became legends. On August 1, 1943, Lilya Litvyak was less than 22 years old. On that day, her plane took off for the last time and remained in the sky forever. Led by Polina Chernishova, the film will be out soon in cinemas. Evgeniy Tkachuk, Petr Rykov and Ivan Brovin also star.

Africa has just become hotter, people, with our favourite Hallmark hunk, the wildly gorgeous Andrew W. Walker going on A SAFARI ROMANCE in a new romantic movie which will heat up the summer schedule over at Hallmark August 12th! Brittany Bristow takes the female lead as Megan Henry, a down-to-earth wildlife biologist, working on a project that will foster protection of wildlife in Africa, who is forced to team up with a theme park designer, Tim Ericson, played by Andrew W. Walker, who wants to create an over-the-top safari attraction. The movie directed by Leif Bristow and written by Agnes Bristow, was shot down in Cape Town in South Africa. A few days ago I showed you first set images but now we have first official ones along with the airing date for LIONS OF SICILY eight episode historical drama that will arrive to Disney + October 25th based on the popular novels by Stefania Auci! This lavish costume family saga is following the story of the Florio family through many decades of the 19th century.

  THE STORY REVOLVES AROUND

 Brothers Paolo (Vinicio Marchioni) and Ignazio (Paolo Briguglia) who are two small spice merchants who have escaped from a Calabria stuck in the past and in search of social redemption. In Sicily they invent a future, turning a small, run-down shop into a flourish business activity that young Vincenzo (Michele Riondino), with his revolutionary ideas, will transform into an economic empire. However, overwhelming Vincenzo’s life and that of the entire family is the disruptive arrival of Giulia (Miriam Leone), a strong and intelligent woman who is in contrast with the rigid rules of the society of the time. A family saga filled with love, family, success, wars and revolutions, the story takes place in Sicily from 1800 until the Proclamation of the Kingdom in Italy in 1861. Also starring are Donatella Finocchiaro as Giuseppina, Eduardo Scarpetta as Ignazio Florio - Vincenzo’s son, Ester Pantano as young Giuseppina and Adele Cammarata as Giovanna D’Ondes. I hope we will be getting a trailer soon, probably with the arrival of Autumn later this year.

He will have to circumnavigate the Earth in a balloon all alone. The flight is prepared by a whole team, but it is impossible to foresee all the dangers that await the traveler in extreme conditions. Konyukhov falls into a hurricane - without communication, without sleep, almost without air, he has to go only forward in order to return to those he loves. Daily Mail has published first set photos from Cary Grant biopic series ARCHIE which was shot last year and should arrive to ITVX this Autumn together with Winter King. Jason Isaacs leads the four part drama as Cary Grant, who was born in Bristol, England in 1904, as Archibald Alexander Leach! The series tells about his troubled childhood and how extreme poverty, his father’s adultery and the loss of his older brother, John, tore the family apart and sent his loving mother into a downward spiral of grief and depression. The script also reveals how deceit, cruelty and one, overpowering lie shaped Archie’s life. Harriet Walter stars as Grant’s mother with Henry Lloyd Hughes also in the cat. The series will also stream on BritBox.

Now, Grisha, a former rich brat who was a serf and became a man, after a trip to the "past" is sensitive to any injustice. And, of course, he cannot get past the lawlessness that the impudent and spoiled brat girl named Katya creates. It is not surprising that soon the new brat finds herself in a different time. Katya is played by Aglaya Tarasova, who was, interestingly enough, a real life girlfriend od Bikovic for sometime. The film was directed by Russia's most popular director Klim Shipenko who recently shot world's first ever film in space.
