LIONS OF SICILY
FIRST OFFICIAL IMAGES
A few days ago I showed you first set images but now we have first official ones along with the airing date for LIONS OF SICILY eight episode historical drama that will arrive to Disney + October 25th based on the popular novels by Stefania Auci! This lavish costume family saga is following the story of the Florio family through many decades of the 19th century.
THE STORY REVOLVES AROUND
Brothers Paolo (Vinicio Marchioni) and Ignazio (Paolo Briguglia) who are
two small spice merchants who have escaped from a Calabria stuck in the
past and in search of social redemption. In Sicily they invent a future,
turning a small, run-down shop into a flourish business activity that
young Vincenzo (Michele Riondino), with his revolutionary ideas, will
transform into an economic empire. However, overwhelming Vincenzo’s life
and that of the entire family is the disruptive arrival of Giulia
(Miriam Leone), a strong and intelligent woman who is in contrast with
the rigid rules of the society of the time. A family saga filled with
love, family, success, wars and revolutions, the story takes place in
Sicily from 1800 until the Proclamation of the Kingdom in Italy in 1861. Also starring are Donatella Finocchiaro as Giuseppina, Eduardo Scarpetta as Ignazio Florio - Vincenzo’s son, Ester Pantano as young Giuseppina and Adele Cammarata as Giovanna D’Ondes. I hope we will be getting a trailer soon, probably with the arrival of Autumn later this year.
LORD OF THE WIND
INSPIRING MOVIE TRAILER
The
story of Fyodor Konyukhov's round-the-world balloon flight is told in a Russian movie for which we just got a new trailer. He
completed it in 2016 in 11 days and set a world record. LORD OF THE WIND (Повелитель ветра), out October,
follows famous
Russian traveler Konyukhov (Fedor Bondarchuk), who has conquered the earth's poles,
oceans and the highest peaks, and now sets off on a new, most dangerous journey.
He will have to circumnavigate the Earth in a balloon all alone. The
flight is prepared by a whole team, but it is impossible to foresee all
the dangers that await the traveler in extreme conditions. Konyukhov
falls into a hurricane - without communication, without sleep, almost
without air, he has to go only forward in order to return to those he
loves. And the whole world, with bated breath, is watching the man who
challenged the elements. See the stunning trailer below and tell us what you think.
Lord of the Air arrives this October |
Can't remember when I last actually watched an Italian film. A balloon flight into a hurricane...that sounds dramatic and scary.
ReplyDeleteThis will be an Italian series, deary. What is scary is that it is a real story, he really did survive all that in his balloon a few years ago, but since he is not an American nobody from the West followed it in their news, just like they did not follow that first Russian film ever shot up in space last year.
DeleteBecause it is made in Italy with italian actors won't have problems advertizing it, so maybe it would be a Fall highlight. Not having Disney i won't see it, but being a Disney product, I don't regret it
ReplyDeleteDisney generally has poor marketing of its shows, especially these foreign ones, I don't think they will give any effort into promoting it, they are terrible. Seeing how many hundreds of millions have been spent on promoting that Barbiheimer garbage it is sad how little or nothing at all shows get for advertising.
DeleteBatbieheimer’s campaign was created before the strike, but now there is a total banning of any publicity. Actors are not supposed to give interviews on incoming shows, there will be no presentations (even The Emmys has been postponed), no photographs, promoting series, etc. So how are we to know when something is coming?
DeleteYou remember that FRan said they kept prolonging negotiations, and she thought they wanted to come with a solution, but then realised they just wanted to prolong the start of the strike so that they could launch Barbiheimer, and launch it they did, bastards. The audience should support the actors and writers and just not go to cinemas, but that would never happen.
DeleteI will tell you when something is coming, but networks have already issued Autumn line ups with no scripted shows, just realities and reruns, for example CBS will have Yellowstone on broadcast and some other already seen shit. With some other streamers I have heard they have programmes done for a year or so, but they will not be able to promote them with actors. It will be a catastrophic season for sure, even worse than covid one.
Lord of the Wind looks good but when humans do dangerous things like that, it stresses me out. I mean, good for him setting a record, but he could have easily perished on the trip, leaving his loved ones behind in grief. Like those stupid people who climb mountains.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I am not sure, though, if this one has a family. I do understand that sometimes it is about proving something to oneself, but life is too short to risk it, then again life is too short is probably their reason for doing it as well LOL It just pisses me off knowing how much these adventures cost actually.
